i just want to add that the coilovers (FK konigsports) feel SOOOOOOOOOO good! xjeeper can back that up too.

i recommend this to EVERYONE! if you are thinking about this GO FOR IT! worth every penny of the $1000 i spent on them. and pretty easy to install too!

i see now...roadfly was down for a sec.

Looks good. How much of a drop? How's your camber? How's the ride quality and handling? Can you compare them to anything other than stock?

well i used to have a few finger gap with my 18's on my car when it was stock...

after i put my coilovers on my car and still had the 18's on and lowered the car WELL, let's just say that the fender had "swallowed" my whole tire and part of the rim (and that was not even "FULL" drop - a little more then 1/2 way maybe)

then i gave the adjusters about 10 full turns higher and put my 17's on (for the next day's auto-x - which i have pics posted from that in the rides & body styling section) and i still have NO "finger gap at all.

i can go much higher and much lower if needed.

as far as ride quality... GREAT! not even at full soft and the car still fells VERY close to stock ride quality. at full firm the car is PERFECT for auto-x (and eventually some tracking)

camber is decent on the car (i will post some dead on front and rear shots so you can judge that yourself

i wish i could compare them to something other then stock, but i haven't YET ridden in anything other then a stock M3 (suspension wise) if you get in touch with ///Arman he said he has had MANY different suspension setups and (IIRC) he said that the FK is by far the best he has had so far. i would talk to him and find out further info if you want it (i know i consulted with him before i bought my c/o's and from what he told me - and a few other bf.c members - that is why i made the choice to go with these)

Yup, thats my 4x4!

I must say, asian M3's car is INCREDIBLE to drive. I was bestowed with the honor of chauffering us back to the auto-x from a hurried lunch meeting in the said car and I can personally attest to is handeling prowess both on the road and the race track. It was truly an unforgettable experience

Seriously though, Jayson's car is awesome now! It makes my M3 feel like a boat. When he is hard on the brakes and full on in the turn the car remains nearly FLAT, almost NO body roll or brake dive whatsoever. It har super sharp turn-in, evern on shitty ass tires the front end bit immediately.
When pushed too hard it shows mild but very controllable understeer.....probably shouldnt be turning that hard on the street anyway, we did this in a blacktop parking lot with plenty of grip. I didnt try to corner on-throttle as I only drove for a very short distance, but what I gather is that currently it is set up with a tendency towards a bit too much oversteer. To me, overall it felt very balanced, ESPECIALLY for only being on the car a few hours and not coming with any instructions. I am truly
impressed!

p.s. guys, don't worry, i'm gettin that bumper straightened out

did you have to run spacers for your 235/40/17's?

no spacers for my stockers with 235/40 or even my 18 w/235/40 also... just depends on how low you want to go and the wheels intial offset i guess.. but so far i have NO probs with needing spacers [/knocking on wood]

are the springs and dampers proprietary FK products or something else (meaning are they built in-house or outsourced from Bilstein or Eibach or whoever)? and do you have any adjustability for damping characteristics? just out of curiosity.

well i know they are "made in germany" and incoporate koni struts/shocks... but that is as far as i know of who builds them...

if you ask Alex (axcE36M3) at Eurospeed Performance he will be able to give you more/better info. that is who i purchased them from - Great guy too!

as far as adjustability goes... i have a good range of firmness/softness to play with front AND rear. very easy to adjust and rides very well. (only the Konigsport offers this ajustability, not the Highsport model)

jayson,

i'm glad everything worked out for you and that you like the coilovers. i knew you would.

the fk's konigsports are a great suspension. well made, excellent performance, and at my prices, an awesome value.

i think i have a couple more coming in too if anyone is interested.

oh so they're just Koni's then. ok. same stuff i have, i was just wondering if you had compression adjustability. myself, i will go with a set of GC springs with the height adjusters so as to have a track school kit. this is just because im so close to them, being in CA, and could get great local support.

Looks great.

M_azn_3,
Did those mudflaps come with your car or did you buy them? Where from and how much?

Thanks

the mudflaps came with the car.

i have heard some people make negative comments about having them on my car, but i like the extra protection they provide me against dirtying my car.

i am not sure on the pricing, but the only place i would be positive in which you can find them is the dealer.

Thanks.

I have mudflaps on my Mazda and I really like them. I am sick of getting dirt splattered on my bumber after I wash my car because the tire sticks out further than the bumper. Hopefully they are not really expensive.
