Hey guys trying to find a wheel setup tht i like and tht will also be functional. I have fallen in love with the style 359 competition m wheels but they only can be found in 19". I plan on a BBK eventually but want to be able to put the power down (plan on making around 5-600whp eventually) so im leaning towards 18" wheels. Are 19"s to big to handle that power? Will they look to big on a z? Is there perhaps a replica wheel or one close to this style thats available in smaller sizes? Thanks ahead of time for any responses!!
VMR made a big name for themselves by selling fake CSLs. Do a search, or check their website.
Thanks! Exactly wht I was looking for! So I'll ask but I'll do a search too wht should I be running for offset? I wanna do a 275 in the rear and a 235 up front. Car is a non m model. Or how do I calculate those measurements? I don't want the hurp durp stanceworks stretched tire look I want this to be functional.
hurp durp lol
yeah there are tons of threads on wheel/tire fitment, you'll find all the info you need via search
Alright ladies well ive been reading over all the threads on wheel fitment but maybe im just really slow at this. Most threads are for z3m fitment. Ive used the offset calc at 1010tires.com and im confused as to it only helps with how the wheel fits not how the tire will fit with the wheel and car () I wanna run 235 up front and a 275 in the rear (maybe bigger in the front but i think 235's will be plenty car is mostly a street car with a few track days here and there) The options for vmr v710 are 18"x8.5" and et20, et35 and et45 for the fronts. Im thinking the 35's are the best option
The rears are 18"x9.5" with et22, et33, et45 and et50 im thinking 45's here? ugh this is confusing to me. Give me any car and i can build you the most amazing turbo setup but i cant figure out a simple wheel solution!!!!!! I know theres tons of wheel fitment threads but help a retarded brother out!!!!
For the front, I think et35 for 18x8.5 would be perfect if the car is lowered a bit. et45 probably won't give you enough clearance on the inside. I run 18x8.5 et40 and it's perfectly flush BUT the car is not lowered much and the tires are only 225/40/18 and I still have minimal clearance near the shock. When I lower it, I will likely need a 5mm spacer.
In the rear I have 18x9.5 et40 and I could probably use a small spacer, so something along the lines of et35 would be perfect I think.

OP, do you have a 1.9 or a 2.8? That makes a big difference in wheel fit.
Oh my bad car is a 2.8 model
There is a replica version of the competition M359 wheels made by Avant Garde Wheels. Here, take a look at some pictures and info:
Avant Garde M359 Wheels Benefits
- Lighter and stronger than your stock wheels

- Easy to maintain
- Great way add a new style to your car
- More aggressive stance and look

No pictures of them on an M Coupe or Roady but here's what they look like on an E46 M3 just so you can get an idea of the concavity of the wheels:

Thanks for the post modbargains! Those where actually the first replicas I looked at but was turned away as they're only available in a 19I plan on running decent power this summer and Idt 19's will hook very well on the street. But glad to know there's vendors paying attention to even the littlest posts! And 275 weaksauce?!? Lol thts plenty of tire for even 700whp on the street! Wht would u recommend and I don't wanna go to big as the car while prbly remain n/a for a bit and I don't wanna loose ever ounce of pep lol
You really dont need a 275. Im pretty sure thats bigger... no, I am positive that is bigger than stock M tire width.
I like the ARC-8s for CSL-style. They are a bit more aggressive than real CSLs but, look good IMO
19s look ok on a Coupe but look too big on a roady. They look like wagon wheels.
Little confused why 19s would be worse to hook up than 18s though? The bigger the wheel, the more torque you need to get moving, so 19s would actually be better for high power, no?
The stock M tire is only 245.

Sidewall plays a huge roll on the street. I could run more sidewall on an 18 then a 19. Ideally I would rather go with a 17 but the brakes I wanna run require at least an 18 to clear. And 245 won't hook very well on the street with more then 500 IMHO. My buddy has 235's on his Evo running low boost making 650 at all four he spins. So far I'm leaning towards the vmr v710's.

I did in fact find a set of 18" competition wheels from one of my suppliers but it looks like you would need to mix and match colors in order to get the right offsets, which would mean I would suggest getting them powdercoated. I would have them in 18x8 ET 38 front and 18x9 ET 20 rears, fronts would be a different color than the rears so that's why I suggested a powdercoat (same manufacturer though).
I might have something from another manufacturer in the future, so I'll keep in touch.
