    Fuel pressure regulator installed

Exhaust VANOS and cam sensor harness re routed

My father and I working on the fuel line install

Lines installed using OEM brackets(slightly modified)

Fuel filter installed in place of OEM one. All lined secured.

On to the cooling system(system is now BULLET PROOF) -16an(1" ID hose ends and line for the coolant hoses)

This radiator is meant for an E46, but now fits the E39 perfectly lol

Installed with fan shroud I made, all aluminum thermostat for 528i(M52), shortened down also to fit hoses.

Some close up of the fan shroud welding

Mount for the radiator(excuse my not so perfect aluminum tig welding)

    Lower mounts
    pass side

    drivers side

Turbo mounted for finalization of the motor mount

Motor mount, completely made of stainless steel(yes a bit over kill)

M50 throttle body with extension welded on

Thats all for now, it's raining like hell outside now.

Left to do: hot side charge pipe, intake pipe for turbo, oil catch can, make new power steering lines for M50 power steering pump, make a DISA block off plate which will also serve as my vacuum source, mount wastegate and lines with boost controller, finishing assembly of my standalone ECU(MS3X), install clutch/flywheel, finish exhaust system, install fuel pump, send out parts for coatings and lay out engine harness into OEM location and wire to MS3X connectors and fire her up and tune!

After it runs: M5 brakes being installed(slotted centric rotors) with custom brake ducting & going to re barrel/new lips/powder coat my wheels, going to do a 9.5" or 10" up front with either 255/35/18 or 265/35/18 and 10.5" or 11" rear with either 295/30/18 or 315/30/18 stay tuned!

LINK TO FULL ALBUM & you add me on Facebook too if you'd like.

    Thanks

Good looking out! I have new OEM mounts in it and trans mounts I installed just before I started the tear down. I may look into them, I get them for cost + 10% since I work at a BMW dealer, but if they cost more than poly mounts I may get poly ones lol

Yes that center section is solid. It was my old man's idea. I want to cut it in half at least or put it on my friends CNC and start cutting out sections of it to lighten it up. Whole think weights almost 18-20lbs.

Free actually only thing that cost me was the two plates, we have access to CNC's and lathes and material like that. I take the 20lbs back, prob 10ish, I'll weight myself then the mount in my hands in a few. Its still heavy.

Why would 20 lbs be an issue in a 3500 lb car? If anything the biggest concern would be ensuring an ideal weld between the two parts of significant difference in thickness. That said if you have access to CNC machines, why not make the entire mount out of a solid piece of aluminum?

Great work! I will say, tough... when looking at the work on the radiator and T-stat, my first thought was you'd better be running some stiff motor mounts. You'll be flat amazed how much movement stock mount give when you start throwing gobs of torque at them.

I wanted to, just this is what material we had there at the time. The mount is going to be actually bolted together then welded up. I may just have this mount scanned and then cut from a soild peice a at later time in case anyone else wants to turbo an E39 i6.

Thank you! Yup, I will prob end up with Z8 mounts or some poly ones. The upper hose is very short (2" IRCC), the lower one is like 6-7" long.
