I thought you guys would like to see my completed conversion of a Z3M. I started the job in July 2010 and had it running in Feb 2011. I have spent the last few months sorting snags, tuning the engine and enjoying the ride. Its all finished now and running good. Its a beast to drive!
The engine is a LS376/480. All parts were new and I have made all conversion parts myself including mounts, headers, exhaust etc. The car is RHD (I'm in UK) so use of any USA based kits was a non starter. Its been a fun challenge to get it done from scratch. Enjoy!

Nice work with the lower cross brace. I am running without, with no issues but your solution has inspired me to pull mine out from the old parts heep and get to work.

Your car and girlfriend both rock!!!!!!
Please don't ever mess that relationship up.
Outstanding! I MISS my LS3 sooooo bad. You made the best decision on HP/$. Strap a Maggie on it now! Awesome work!
Nice work! How did the MOT inspection go??
Cheers

little cars with a sound like that make me do the head tilt that dogs do when they hear high pitch noises. a ls(?) miata at the autox makes me think the same thing lol
but i freakin love this. epic work man.

Passed first time no problems. Just involved and extended inspection. The emissions were on the limit for CO - 0.3% at fast idle.
Thanks for the compliments! Here are a few more pics:

wow, great work and fabricatin skills!
I have not posted on here for a while. The car has been running now for a couple of years and this winter i wanted to improve a few aspects of the conversion. I have ended up changing a lots of the parts. The engine has a new air inlet, cooling system, PS pump and other mods to make the engine bay look tidier.
Much better there now so im very happy with the look of it.
The other big job I have been doing is to replace the exhausts. I now have twin 3" throughout and megan racing mufflers. I made two centre sections - one with a CAT and one without.
Here is a little video of the engine running with the new exhausts.
The car is on the road again next week so the fun starts here :-)
Beautiful build. .. exactly what I plan to do to mine. Please include mOre pics and vidEo. ......
Wow. ...sounds aWesome! !!!!!
'98 Imola Red M Roadster, 155kmi, motor just regasketed and head redone, Conforti Air Intake and Shark Injector, Strong-strut F Tower brace, Butt-Strutt, and Frame-Rail Reinforcement, Bilstein shocks.......otherwise stock. Will be prepping car for probable, eventual LS3 conversion
Thanks. There are more pics on the longer build thread I did on a UK forum here:

I dont have that many videos but just about to buy a gopro so will have more to show soon. Here is one from a blast along a runway from last year. It got up to around 155 before the braking point.
Too cool! One day I'd like to LSx swap, but for now my engine is healthy and my wallet is empty. haha
I put the car on the dyno last week. Its running a little lean but still giving good power. Enjoy :-)
