Anyone have a good catch can solution for an E36 speed?

Spilling some oil from the breather/vent hole on top and thinking of doing a circulating catch can solution.

I am sure that has been done by some; can any one recommend a setup.

I have something similar to this. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JEGS-...ehicleQ5fParts

A number of ebay sellers have variations on this same idea, some for a bit cheaper. At ~4" tall it's small enough that you can stick it about anywhere. The bottom has a valve so you can drain oil out should it fill.

I run a hose from the top of the trans to the engine bay, secure it and forget about it, no can required. No oil will ever make it up that two feet rise. We primarily get oil from the breather on left hand turns, then it runs right back in.

Makes sense. Did you put the hose right on top of the vent hole? What size hose did you use?

I will measure it today and get back to you...

Ninek, I forgot to mention that I don't have any ZF transmissions here, only Getrag stuff and I can't remember if they are the same. I bought my tubing from Mcmaster Motorsports (mcmaster.com) it was either 7/16th or 12mm.

    Good Luck, Nate.
