    CL find - Charlotte, NC

I spoke to the owner. I had a hard time understanding him but had the "buyer beware" attitude. He said it had been involved in a minor collision. Not sure if the PS tailpipe is an item that didn't get attended to?

Reasonable price too. The paint is a little shiny in the back, maybe he had a minor fender bender but nothing terrible.

There was a silver coupe on a salvage title on the other side of Charlotte a few months back that was looking for $11K.

LSBs are S54. So, when your cheap S52 is $9K, your cheap S54 will be $15K. Almost double the price.

What? Imola sounds more attractive? yeaahh righhht

BTW, if you want to respray the whole car LSB, Estoril is the color to get. So that you worry less about the door jambs etc.

Will definitley take a nice lsb for 15k...i'm dreaming

This is my exact concern(the door jambs and under the bonnet)......but i'd rather get the original lsb as it is going to be a keeper.

ever since i saw kbh2201's Lsb and the Imola from philly Ive been fiening for either colors, actually I'll even take a white.

Well, my Z3 is bright red. Imola is darker but I'm done with red.

I got the Estoril and I'm loving it. However, the whole car better be resprayed. I had the front bumper sprayed and hood blended-in. Then asked the body shop to spray the roof spoiler for me....

They did. Now I have a dark to light transitional color from front to the back, with a touch of dark spoiler on light color paint. Jesus.

A friend of mine in advertising industry will hook me up with some glossy white vinyl wrap.

I'm thinking about putting the car on jack stands, send the wheels to refurbishing, in the meantime, do the shocks, rotors, pads, stereo install etc. Since the car will be in the garage, not being driven for a while, I might try the vinyl thing.

    Let's see.

    Alpine White?

I'm against matte anything. He even said there was "matte white" available. I said hell no.

Even glossy makes me think, but he's gonna bring me some samples enough to cover a panel etc. I'll see the texture / look and decide.

Forget the tail pipe. My guess is the "minor collision" has something to do with the non-M front bumper and the nasty azz eyebrow grills. I'm surprised nobody's mentioned it yet.

obd2 cover is missing, has this car seen a lot of shop time? Make sure the CEL works. The NITTO TIRES!!! pictured look like mismatching garbage. Something doesn't look right in the front end. Maybe it's the ooogly kidneys that make the bumper not look like it lines up with the bottom of the hood. For the money, it looks interesting, but I would definitely take it somewhere and have a good PPI done.

Who the fuck would paint a beautiful color a comically bad color just to be different?

Why was the whole car repainted? That doesn't look like Estoril... it has hints of purple in it. Maybe my eyes are lying to me.

I would offer him $8500 for it. But then a good respray with Z3M bumper and original kidneys would be over $1500 to get it back from it's M2 Coupe state. Who knows what other baggage it carries.

Estoril has a lot of purple in it from the right angle.

So this car is actually true Estoril? I've seen/touched estoril before and it had a deep nice blue to it. It captivated you and stared deep into your soul. This one seems faded and purpled out like those pearlescent paints.

    But if not...

Might not be such a bad deal then.

It has the Estoril dash. That really is way too much trouble to fake.

So I would say its a real M Car.

Seems scary to me, too many things I would have to fix to make me happy.

Also, its easy to back into things with the exhaust. I have done it more than once.

Here is my problem with the car.

The frame rails on the front of the car appear to be painted Estoril.

They should be a flat blue primer.

So either its the light messing with the colors, or this car has been wrecked very badly and repaired.
