    There's nothing wrong with them.

.... Why do you say they're garbage?
    Just back it up...

Anyways, The only reason I got them was for longer life.
The super copper ones are propably better performence wise, but these just last longer and don't need to gap them if they get worn down.

Your plugs look terrible. The electrode is completely covered in what looks to be coolant deposits.

PS- your username is especially frustrating.

    Change your name, friend :
    :

Theres no sense in a running a platinum plug in a copper environment. p[latinum plugs thrive under high voltage/high current /high temperature torture like new direct systems, etc. PLatinums dont self clean like a more consumable plug, and therefore actually can take you to where your pictures were showing. Ive had nothing but success with coppers in both of my older BMW's, and have ran both. PS....check you head gasket integrity.

There is nothing wrong with platinum plugs. Most plugs have a platinum tip these days. It looks to me like your engine may have internal oil consumption.

Platinum is used to reduce the tip erosion rate since it is a fairly hard metal. It is also corrosion resistant. The downside is that it is a poor conductor. I personally am using NGK plugs on my cars.
