Built 2 forged S62s this past week with my machinist/engine builders help, one for peter, and one for myself. Installing mine tomorrow and shipping peters to mike o’ niel in Jersey.
Both are identical engines, minus the fact that i had my machine shop build my heads while peter opted for VAC heads. Everything was balanced and weighed and the tolerances are set to race standards, rotating assembly was balanced to 9k rpm, heads were flow tested, and the whole 9 yards.
Shout out to Eric Nichols and the gang at the shop for putting in ridiculous hours and for letting me wrench with them, as well as staying up late as 5am building my engine. Don’t know many machinists who are willing to do that, Eric definitely loves what he does. Learned a lot of cool stuff as well, and some funny stories. So thanks Eric, Steve, Daimon, Mitch, and Travis.
Steve Bailey at VAC, thanks for hooking me up with some of the components, great deals and great customer service. Got the heads in and out really quick, always touched base and stayed in contact. Highly recommend VAC if you ever need anything from them. Talk to Steve if you need anything.
Nick Arias at Atomic Speedware for select components, great prices and great customer, always stayed in touch and will definitely be getting my return business in the future, highly recommend him if you need something.
Scott Dunham at BMW of Houston for all the BMW parts, always send him ridiculous parts lists and call him on his cell for stuff. never has an issue and always willing to lend a hand, not many can touch his bmw parts prices.
Peter Partee for giving me the opportunity of helping him out after the Bavarian solution fiasco and for the advice/critique he's offered along the way. as well as putting up with me along the way, and vice versa, the feelings mutual.
Adam Bajrak and Steve Bierbaum for answering my random phone calls and providing words of wisdom regarding stuff only old people know.
Michael Amster for helping me out with advise and giving me the opportunity to give the blue beast a makeover. Im sorry someone stole your vorsteiner hood…it was an accident I swear!
Dave Wilson give me that hood, ill find out where you live. Im serious lol
My haters, because without you guys, i wouldnt have a reason to show you up. keep throwing fuel on my fire.
And thanks to everyone on the board for the support!

Very Cool.

Congrats.
Wow
i came.
hi i'm nickmanderfield.com and i hang out on the internets,
i also recently started to sell carbon fiber coasters.
The most important thing I learned in this post...
You can put darton sleves in with a FN boring bar... honestly didn't think it was possible. I bet he worked probably all day on boring them out to press in the new ones. That's slow tedious work. Takes a good machinist to make a FN do that.
Man that's cool though. Nice build. Any higher redline than stock or are you staying with stock cams/redline?

huh...well nothing like a slap in mandingus before pay day. I'm sure it'll make a ton of power, but how much are we talking? Your machinist is bad ass.
Rockin' stuff, Raz. We need more of this around here.
How much, meaning $$. Sorry, should have clarified.
