Old school SBC has been done, but not any build threads on here. Also, no kits for the SBC if you need one.

Alot of the swapped cars are running in the mid-low 13's. Rao has been mid 12's in his past swap(6.6L M3 2door) and Mas280 has been 11.0 in his 500+hp car.

    No idea on elevation.

308ci SBF with Trick Flow head/cam/intake. 24lb injectors, 75mm MAF, 70 TB, 3.91 gears and Centerforce DFF clutch.

Yes, I should be a lot lower. 1st was useless with stock tires on 15" wheels. My shocks were blown and one cracked rear spring. Hopefully with my 17" x 8.5" rims I'm buying this weekend and the shocks/struts/springs I finish installing I should be a lot better.

Going to hit the dyno before my next track run though.

With some decent tires you and a good launch (1.9 60ft) you will be in the 12's. You have enough mph for it.
“If the representatives of the people betray their constituents, there is then no resource left but in the exertion of that original right of self-defense which is paramount to all positive forms of government, and which against the usurpations of the national rulers may be exerted with infinitely better prospect of success than against those of the rulers of an individual State. In a single State, if the persons intrusted with supreme power become usurpers, the different parcels, subdivisions, or districts of which it consists, having no distinct government in each, can take no regular measures for defense. The citizens must rush tumultuously to arms, without concert, without system, without resource; except in their courage and despair.” – Alexander Hamilton, Federalist No. 28

I think so too. I could really benefit from some tuning. I've tried doing what I can with timing and fuel pressure but I can't seem to get the engine so it pulls the whole time. I either can get low or high. Thats how I know it needs a tune to smooth it all out.

Thanks guys for the numbers. keep them coming ..

Im hoping to be fast enuff were they say I need a full fire suit and a cage.

Out here at 5,400 ft above sea level I think if i remember right 11,s i think you need CAGE, and a fire suit with a power cut off switch.. 11s or 10s.

Its kinda funny out here only THE BIG BOYS DIP UNDER 10s, out here I think theres a few cars like a mustang that dose low 11s and a turbo supra high 10,s that drive there cars on the street on the strip....

But its funny when some kids have a turbo TC says "O Im runing 11" and he runs 16.2s

ya your car might be fast on the street but at the drags its a HOLE DIFF STORY..

I don't know how a lot of you aren't going much faster...

I went 13.2 @ 106 on Pilot cups in my S50 E36 with cams and tune.

I don't see how I wouldn't be able to do a 12.0 or even dip into high 11's with slicks when my ls1 swap is finished.

All that work just to be in low 13s?

Lightly modded stock E36 M3 is in high 13s

keep in mind, there are plenty of us running in the low-mid 12's also =) With some more 60ft practice I should be in the high 11's with my current setup, it takes a buch of money to get a e36 m3 into that area.

Mine should be in the 11's when all is said and done. But that is just a arm chair drag racer estimate though.

torque doesn't matter as much in the drags since you keep the rpm's up so much. a well done s50 with cams and a good tune is only down ~40 horse from a stock ls1.

with slicks low 12's should be very easy in a stockish swap.

    I've done 13.4 @ 111 with 2.2 60's - slicks or 555r's would be good for 1.6's and easy mid 12's on a 100% stock motor.

hell, just getting a drag oriented alignment would be worth better times.

I think the issue is that a stock LS1 in an e36 is capable of a mid to high 12 second pass with a great driver, 15" wheels and real slicks.

The fact of the matter is that the platform is not designed to hook and go. You have to make it do that. With the right springs, swaybar tuning, tires, rear gear, etc. It could be a very potent car on the track.

Tong boy seems to be feeling his way to making his car a best of both worlds kind of car.

In the end, driver and car setup play an important part of getting good times.

I disagree, a stock ls1 e36 on 17" street tires will run high 12's on a well prepped track, IMO
