What are some of your intake set ups?
Does anyone know of a possible way of getting it to mate up with a stock airbox from another V8 BMW engine somehow?
i don't think the e39 or 39 box will work. on the v8 bmw the box and body has a hole in the bottom for the air to come in, if you have the parts from the vi8s try it and see. this is my set up filter is behind the bumper (high enough)

Very clean!

Ok, that's clean too
of all the setups i've seen I probably like 357i's the best, well, besides mas280's crazy custom fab setup that is also very nice.
down on the drivers side to behind the fog light area seems like a nice cool place to get air and still keep the engine bay neat
It's not that crazy but it does cost money.

Does it just suck off of the radiator?
how low
My IAT are within 1-3* of outside temps.
do you have any picture from in front of the grills showing the filter? love your set you mas280!! super clean. oh also i don't see a mass air flow are you using density tune?

I will take a picture next week when I get back in town. I am using Holley efi on my car so no MAF.
I am also kind of curious about more info on it. Is it a custom set up, or is it something someone can buy off the shelf?
He has pics in his own build thread,....it looks like a thicker cored radiator that is shorter. Then an airbox housing that goes over the top of the radiator. I think its a samberg setup, adapted from an Rx7 package or similarly designed at least.
I've wondered is a shorter radiator could be used in conjunction with an intake pipe from a c5 corvette + K&N.

I have a cover plate over this opening, so it gets all of it's air from the BMW opening below the hood. [IMG][/IMG]
sweet thanks!!!!
Any details on the radiator size? That looks like an awesome set up to have, for the intake system.
That's the best intake solution I've seen. The tube+filter solution takes up a lot of space and is difficult to route over the driver's radiator hose and/or aftermarket headlights.
Yeah, having no headlights helps though!
We will be building an aluminum heatshield similar to how most aftermarket e36 intakes are to seal off the intake from the rest of the engine bay and feed it from where the driver headlight was.

Here is mine...behind headlight and in a box to shield it from the engine bay. IAT is ambient + <5deg on this, so it works good. Car is a Z3.

What size/kind of filters are you guys running. Just a regular 3" inlet K&N filter?
