Tools:
Phillips and Flat screwdrivers
10mm socket/ratchet w/ 8” extension
2 drain pans

Put car on ramps.

Remove under cover by releasing Phillips ¼ turn fasteners.

Remove filter housing top and MAF.

Remove inlet tube, hose clamped on inlet, and the vacuum lines connecting on the lower side

Remove lower radiator to cooler hose. Quick disconnect fitting. Slide it up, and pull hose off. This is where you will need your first drain pan.

Unplug sensor from the lower radiator hose

Unplug sensors from below the expansion tank and the expansion tank hose. Here is where you will need the second drain pan. Fold hose out of the way when done draining.

Remove lower radiator hose from the water pump. Leave the hose attached to the radiator. Its no fun to try and get this off while the radiator is in the car.

Remove the upper hose from the radiator.

Remove the 2 lock pins holding the shroud on. (Pull the center out, then the whole tab comes out.)

Remove the 2 locking tabs, by pressing a flat blade screwdriver in the opening and push as shown on the arrow on the tab.

Once loose, you can remove the tabs from the header panel.

Remove the radiator shroud. Its tight, but you can lift it up and out of the way. Expansion tank comes with it.

Once shroud is away, pick up the radiator to unstick it from the frame. No way to show you this, but…the trick is to lift and twist more on the air filter side of the radiator to gain clearance to miss the inlet/outlet tubes of the auxillary radiators ahead of the radiator.

Once you have the radiator out, put it back in a few times to get practice, so you don’t damage the new fins of your new radiator. Youll get the hang of it.

Anyways…once radiator is out…you need to remove the 2 rubber anti vibration pads from the radiator sides.

You also need to remove the lower radiator/cooler hose that you disconnected first.

You unscrew it about a ½ turn and pull it out.

Once you have your parts installed on your new radiator, back in she goes. You’ve practiced using your old one in/out a few times, so its pretty easy.

Fill with coolant/water.

Start the car, HVAC/IHKA heat temps full, fan on low, and let it run. Unlock the cluster and watch the temps. Keep expansion tank “full” as indicated by the “stick” until the thermostat opens. I cap mine at this point and go drive it, to make sure the needle doesn’t peg red or move like it has air in the system and look for coolant warnings.

Put it back on ramps and let it cool. The air should mostly be out by now.

Check coolant level and bleed for more air after its cooled off.
Might have to do this several times

Here she is, nose up and proud, and burping.

Good luck

Took me about 2 hours to take pics, wash coolant off engine, etc etc and to change the radiator of course. You could do this in an hour if you wanted.

Sorry for the phone pics...
