newbie question... where do you use the contact spring clips? i just bought a 98 540 and the rest button was stuck but now that I was able to undo it, it is not springing back out... does this mean i need a new button or just a spring thing? if I need both, let me know where to send payments to..

The contact spring clips are located between the LCD mainboad and the faceplate that houses the buttons. Your problem is either a bent contact spring or some type of sticky residue that made its way into the area.

Its actually very tricky to get the spring clips to sit properly once the faceplate is removed. I found the best way is to put the faceplate back on with a quick snap, make sure it clears the metal holding brackets and you're good to go.

No problem!! I learnt my lesson when I accidentally broke the tab off my AC button... these buttons are very fragile.
