Will do. Have to wait for tomorrow.

Check valve was installed in the right orientation.

I think it's a great and proven setup...but my installation location was bad. I didn't want to clog the cat with carbon...

I will post pics tomorrow and see if you guys can find a problem somewhere

Once I replaced the defective cv I am happy with the kit. Couple pounds at idle and steady 6 ish inHg through the RPM range.

gotcha, so mount it as close to the turbo as possible? is it ok to have it upstream of your O2 sensor?

i'm about to eliminate my cat altogether so i'm not worried about clogging that at all.

I think the other guys should chime in here...but my instinct is down stream of the O2 as it could clog/screw up the readings...but yes I think closer to the turbo the better.

I am going to reattempt in a few weeks. I am tired of hauling exhaust system components to the shop to weld. I need a welder at home! After 2 guys have seen identical results on vastly different setups...I see no reason why this shouldn't be a good solution...so I'm sticking with it until I have tried everything.

I just ran out of time to work on the car and need to unwind before another start of a crazy schedule. I will post pics of my second try as I don't want to tear things apart just to get pics.

I'm thinking of relocating my o2 sensor bung a lot closer to the turbo then putting the Vibrant just down from that.

edit: now that I think of it my 02 sensor might be right after the turbo pre-cat but my wideband is post cat. Zepp can you confirm is your o2 sensor right after the turbo?

Yes. My TT downpipe has the O2 mounted right after the turbo. My wideband is just downstream of that.

ok great, I believe its my wideband then that is all the way past the tranny support. I will have to relocate it anyway so that I can put the CCV as close to the turbo.

Ethon, I used 60 sec epoxy. You can get the stuff from your local hardware store.

Have you checked back pressure in the exhaust? Hope you get it sorted dude!

Yea, I get a pic. I had my fitting machined so its a pretty tight fit with a dab of honda bond.

    That's a good idea.

To be really honest I haven't worked on the car in a while. I'm happy with it as it stands...and my oil leaks are gone now that I dropped and re-sealed the oil pan.

I'll come back to this project...but with a car that holds it's fluids, runs great, and requires very little maintenance...car projects are on the back burner for now.

your wideband is after your cat???? Not good man. the readings after your cat are "cleaned up" and are not true reading.... Am i missing something??

That looks nice! Plus, it's that little extra precaution. Where did you source that "set screw"?

    ^ that looks great

is everyone running a catch can with this setup? Mine is in and seems to be working great, car is very happy.

I am however blowing a bit of smoke that i wasnt before on engine decel as if the extra vac is pulling more oil vapor out of the crankcase.

I eliminated my McKinney catch can and ran the vent to the M5 cycl sep from the TT kit then to the exhaust.

I like the pretty AN fittings the shop hooked me up with.

I figured smoke would be a given since you're essentially burning the oil that would normally coat your intake piping if you had your catch can/cyclone separator outlet hooked up pre turbo.

Sniz, try deleting the catch can. I can guarantee there is not a excess of oil being sucked out of the top of the head. It's probably your turbo backing up with oil because you have excess crank case pressure. Read this whole thread.

I dunno why everyone is messing around with a catch can exhaust valve set up... A boosted engine will not work with a factory style ccv system... Or the aftermarket it seems like either...

Just run a hose to a breather and enjoy your life!!!!

^ probably not so good, considering the outlet for ccv is tapped at the lowest possible point of top of the head.

I'm not sure the logic behind your statement. Why does height affect anything? If the crank case is pressurizing it should be applied pretty equally over everything
