change your SA string so that option code 522 is added, and then go in with NCS expert and disable automatic leveling (if you don't have the high cluster than you probably don't need to bother... only need to disable it because of the warning message)
i prefer Progman if its possible , do you have any link Terra ?
if it's possible in progman, there'll be a xenon lighting button under retrofits. I know you can do it through progman for the E46, not sure about the E39. You will have to go back in with NCS Expert anyway to disable the warnings however.
Changing the ZCS and then recoding the LCM is exactly the same thing progman will do if the option is available - it's not just a quick hack like other modifications.

send me link for E46 if you have it , i will see if it works for E39
i messed up with NCS expert one time so i try to avoid it hehe
and yes i don't have high cluster for 2001 so if i und correctly my problem with be with warning message only

I don't have a link, and I don't really feel like uncoding the xenons so that I can make a tutorial (especially since I have a lot of customizations for my LSZ). I'll try to instead explain the process as simply as I can, you really can't go wrong.
Go to control modules. When it asks if anything was replaced, say no. After it loads, click on retrofits. There should be something like "xenon lighting" as an available option - click it. It'll tell you that you should only do this retrofit if you've already installed the hardware - say yes to all the warnings and then it should start coding the car.
After it's done, go back to the control modules, and then click "LCM". Recode it.
You should have xenons now. If the car is new enough that bixenons were available that year, you will probably lose your highbeam functionality - if you want it back you'll either need to retrofit the bixenon wiring (which will only work if you got OEM HIDs). If you don't want to do the wiring, and/or if you don't have OEM HIDs, then your only option is to use NCS Expert to reenable the halogen highbeams.
new xenon is OEM hella with ballast
so first i need connect wiring ( do not try to switch headlights on )
then retrofit xenon
then recode LCM ( now with xenon )
and i don't have highbeam functionality for my 2001 so i should be fine , right ?
and what about warning message on dash ?
tnx bro !

Yea you've got the gyst of it. And you're right, since the 525 is an 01, you won't have to worry about the bixenon issue.
As for the warning message on the dash - basically it'll say the dynamic leveling is not functional (since it's not there). I'm not sure exactly which line in NCS Expert will disable the message, but I'm sure there's one (or more). I'll look into it tomorrow morning; which coding index LCM does the car have?
where i can get LCM coding index ?
thanks, no worry, we have time ...
i had a good deal on 2003 OEM xenon headlights with ballast/bulbs but they didn't shipped yet
people said for message i may use this
Ebay Item number: 330502140647

After you read the data off the LCM in NCS Expert, it should say it's using a file something like "LCM.C##" The C## is the coding index.
Anyway try setting LEUCHTWEITENREG_DYNAM and LEUCHTWEITENREG_AUTOM both to "nicht_aktiv" - I think that should get rid of the warning.
cool bro
waiting for my headlights to start hehe
ok lets see some progress
got my headlights
http://s709.photobucket.com/albums/w...77/HEADLIGHTS/
some people said install on a xenon car to adjust them first
( also good idea to see if they actually work or not )
and then disconnect somehow so you headlights will remember the latest position
and you can install them on car w/o auto level so they will not drop down ... what the hell
I installed them on 2003 530i with xenon , so far my questions :
how i can adjust headlight ? left side is up and right side is down
adjusters look like are not broken and auto leveling is working fine
do i really need to disconnect headlight on a working car to keep there memory ?
this part is scare me

I want to retrofit it on a low cluster, 2001 525i

i hope so
which car do you have ? E46 ?
now mark said i need to disconnect auto level servos on a xenon working car so lights will keep memory of a max adjustment
then you can swap headlights so you light level will be more correct
mmm something like this

Well if it doesn't work through progman, we'll have to use NCS Expert. I'll help you out as best I can
Hi, Terra
I tried to see this "xenon lighting" as an available option in progman but i don't see it
can you post a picture maybe ?
thanks,
I
and ya buy E39 man , not E46 , you will never come back

Heh, I decided against the E39 - going with an E46 M3 I'm still young; I figure the E46 is more my style
I actually can't get a picture since I already did the xenon retrofit on my car a long time ago. It should be right under the retrofits section. If it's not there, then we'll have to go with NCS Expert - it really isn't that dangerous.
Post your ZCS (GM, SA, and VN) here, and I'll tell you what to modify

Not to highjack this thread but it is a good place for the information. How do we enable the fogs ON with highbeams ON?
Hi search in here http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum....php?t=1465941 ....

I did it in Progman and it was NOT so basic and took around 45 min
Progman is the SAFE way to go !
I still have some errors which i need to take care and i didnt decode LCM module , just retrofit Xenon and module was decoded inside retrofit
So far no error on display !! Xenon is up and woriking
Now i need to adjust my headlights
LOL
