awesome.
How did the brakes hold up? Details please. Tire type also somewhat important.
Uh, at 608, 806, 820 908, is that bad smoke or tire smoke? Forgot the specs on your engine....
what were you shifting at? with my z06, I started short shifting, as the torque peak is 4k, and I can't afford a rebuild.
Brakes held up great, zero fade. Running Stoptechs up front with PFC 06 pads all around. Dunlop Star Specs. Engine smoke yes, older model LS1 engine, notorious for burning oil. Stock bottom end, 232/232 cam, LS6 head and intake, 414rwhp.
Shifting at 6500rpm usually. Was hitting 150mph on back straight and lifting off before the first brake marker. It was a little squirrely under braking at that speed so I wasn't trying to run it flat out and deep into the braking zone.
Last session of the day (after this video) was turning 2:19's. It still has more left in it, I just need more seat time.
so were any of the other cars on the track even trying?
brake details?
first time on the track?
seemed like a lot of off throttle time. maybe it is maintenance throttle I can't hear.
anyhow, car looks retarded fast.
LOL.
No not first time on the track and I never claimed to be an expert either.
Third time on track in this car. I have about 10 total track days of experience, so not a whole lot I don't guess.
Yea I was off the throttle well before the braking zone on the back straight only b/c the car was not as stable as I would like it to be under braking from 150mph. I didn't see any point in trying to stay in it.
By the start finish I was running 130+ before getting to the kink or slight bend in the track. I kept the throttle steady from there down to turn one. Car is on stock suspension except for sways.
I'm sure if I was in a stock engined M3 with 200 rwhp or so I would have held it flat deep into the braking zones.
To sum it the car is way faster than I can drive it yet or comfortable with in it's current suspension set up. With more seat time and a better suspension set up, I know the lap times will come way down.
Look up a few posts for brake, engine etc, details.
sorry, meant to say first time on that track. that sounded bad. I apologize.
it just seemed like you were very easy on the brakes and lots of coasting.
i'll look up your setup.
