8 Series (E31) (1991 - 1997) As the last E24 rolled off the production line in 1989, its replacement was quick on its heels to fulfill the fantasies of those looking for a touring coupe with all of the luxury, performance, and prestige of a BMW, only now with both 8 and 12 cylinder engines.

840 problem

Anyone have a vibration from the rear on their 840 between 25 and 40 mph? Any idea of the cause?

Actually are very few of us here. I have a constant vibration on acceleration that I am waiting to get bad enough to find for certain.

I would go with the center drive shaft bearing theory first though. That is the probable cause of my vibration too.

Roadfly was the right place to ask first because that is where most of the US 8 population hangs out.

If you speak German then try http://www.clube31.de/ There is an English forum there too.

The English version www.clube31.com is just getting restarted.
