Question EWS II Antenna Ring Removal

Anyone give me a clue how to remove this blasted thing so I can replace the rubber ring under it?

How does it attach to the ignition switch lock?

    Thanks.

Alternatively, and much more boring, you can just kind of carefully pry it off with a screwdriver.

I'm kinda liking option 2. I'm just afraid I'll break something like mounting tabs or the ring itself.

I pulled my antenna ring off to inspect it and the casing is all cracked could this cause a no start condition?

if it is cracked to the point it looks like the antenna ring maybe broken, then yes it would prevent your car from starting.

relpaced it from a donor car and it didnt help

    heres what i have tested.

i disconnected my batter over night to do a reset like someone had mentioned
I charged my battery overnight as well to be certain it had a full charge as it has been sitting for a week.
I checked the power at the jumpstart terminal under the hood and it was the same as sthe battery reading about 12.5
checked it at the starter and it was the same.
checked the ignition switch and everything was good
the reading at the solenoid with the key in start position was 0.
something is keeping power from going to the solenoid. EWS2 grrrrrrrr.

cant find the starter relay bentley says its on the relay panel in the drivers side kick panel but there isnt a starter relay in there in the location they say its in.. I looked up what they look like on pelican parts and saw no evidence of one. where is it? any clue?

jumpered the starter and it turned the motor over fine. car woulnt start though.
no sign of spark or (fuel pump coming on humm )when i turn the key either.
put a new ring antenna on out of a donor car and that didnt help
took an ews box(the one the antenna pugs into) out of donor car and no help either.
exchanged my main relay out with the horn relay and it didnt help.
unlocked and relocked the doors with the key.
activated the alarm system and disarmed it (factory system)
added a extra ground to the engine
swapped out the neutral safety/park switch form a donor car and saw no results

i am going to order another key because i think this new one may have gone bad too. i have only had it for 6 months or so.
