5 lug swaps put the sway links on the struts. So that's solved. I have to retrofit them onto the E30 strut ala E30 M3.

    It's generic E46 stuff. Not E46 M3

    then sandpapered it smooth. Yes.

It was actually easy with an angle grinder. Just checked it now and then. It's almost perfect.

Yeah I hear that. At one point I had a green nose panel black hood and a green trunk, but she purred. Going to hyperfest this year?

    which tie rods?
have you adjusted the camber out with camber plates up top?

which exact control arms do you have? e46 m3? e46 ix? e46?

I used stock tie rods. my spacers give me enough room that I'm ok with it. over 1/2" of threading and toe is visibly decent. If you don't have the spacers, you'll have to double up with E34 tie rods. Like this:

I haven't @#$% with camber yet. I just finished fabrication for the sway link and got everything together before rain found me.

I used stock e46 control arms. No M3, no IX. Regular.

E30 inner tie rods and E34 "tie rods" with the reverse splined ball joint on the other end. It's cheaper if you buy them with both ball joints on them though. You cut off the stock outer tie rod with about an inch of threading on it, then thread it into one side of the E34 tie rod. Tada! loads of length. Then it's up to you to cut them to length.

Looks like it will work! That tie rod situation is a little shady, but hey if it works it works! So I assume you will be modding your knuckles? That is the only reason to do this.

I ran 225/40/17s with ET 20 17x8s. but I ran 30mm spacers and still hit the frame/swaybar. The tie rod spacers are only 5mm. I'd love to mod my knuckles but even now I have fitment issues.

The new setup that I'm running still uses 25mm spacers but I have about an inch before I hit anything.

    205/50-15 on a et23 15x7 with 30mm spacers

    i found the solution

e36/e30 brackets are 60mm it just so happens that turner makes a bushing specifically for the early style 60mm e46 brackets...

E46 (Not M3) Delrin Control Arm Bushing Set
    Part #: 31126757623D
    Applications: 1998 - 2005 (E46)
A solution to the inherent flex associated with the stock rubber parts. This bushing set offers stability that you will immediately feel under braking and high corner load. The car becomes more responsive, turn in is improved, and tire scrub is reduced. This kit is delrin and aluminum so it meets the Grand Am Cup rules (We use them on our Cup 330i) **Requires early 60mm Brackets or E46M3 Brackets **
    Price: $112.00

That just slips over the hexagon shit?

I'm not 100% it will work. I had to grind down pretty far on my control arm to get the distance right.
