All good things must come to an end.

UPDATED PICS NEAR THE BOTTOM OF FIRST PAGE

rear ended a nissan versa on the highway today when everyone layed on their brakes. needless to say, i didnt stop in time... i assumed traffic was going to continue to flow as it always does, so i just coasted in gear, and as i got closer, bam, hard brakes and i soaked up alot of my braking distance in coasting. hit a car that was going 20, i was going 35 40.

    pics!

its plenty fixable, but considering the quirks with it, im going to swap shells to a decent 86 325es that i have. then just repair that shell and sell it.

i already talked to a friend at a bodyshop and he said he would put a whole new core support in it for 200 bucks. just bring him the parts. i just need to get a new hood, fender, bumper and valance. it sucks cause the bumper is a euro bumper that i spent.... a lot on.

the edges of the euro bumper made it out alive, really i only need a new center section, trim and bumper light.

ive got an extra US plastic ill put on and make the 87 a mosge posge of shit and just sell it for cheap.

    The E30 gods strike again!
If you have the time, you could fix it; but, if it is your daily driver, it looks like you are in need of a new E30... That sucks...

I always find how unfair it is that a newer car that gets into an accident with an E30 usually escapes with relatively minor damage, but the E30 always ends up a sufferer.

i dont know if i would say it got away fine.... i fucked it up pretty good. it had been hit in the exact same spot at some point, so i dont know if its preexisting. but the entire drivers frame rail is fucked up. i owned it pretty good.

I agree, looks totally fixable. Like someone said though, if it's your daily driver, it makes sense to just get another.

Tell me about it. Someone t-boned me a while back and he basically had a scratch on his bumper. I have a dented rear quater and damage to my door.

Funny thing is, people usually say older cars are built like tanks, but I got rear ended in my 69 Nova and the same thing happened. The guy had like a scratch on his bumper and I had a massive dent in the bumper, trunk, and filler panel.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do, OP.

That was a very nice looking e30. Its certainly depressing to see it like that. Hopefully no one paid with bodily damage but the cars. Your next car will be better because of the experience you gained with this one.

    Pre-existing damage doesn't count.

My mom got hit in the back of her Sentra once, bad enough that the entire trunk floorpan, bumper, I think lights, etc. had to get replaced. She literally got a brand new rear end. Damage was a few grand's worth, and they nearly totaled the car. Of course the damage in this case was far greater than that Versa. The damage on the Versa isn't nearly as bad as it could be, and I'm sure it won't just fall off in its current state. What will it need? Bumper? Hatch? Perhaps a few bumper mounts? Maybe the damage is more than it looks like.

    QFT.

I spun in my old E24 in the wet (gotta love TRX tires) and hit a guard rail at about 25 with my rear bumper. The guard rail was bent all to hell, bad enough they eventually had to replace the whole section. My diving boards on the other hand only had one scuff that I cleaned off with a scotchbrite pad.

Real bummer about the car man, looked really good. Luckily there is no shortage of E30s out there.

That's too bad. I always liked that car and its stance. I like your E28 better though, so I'm glad you didn't wreck that.

My brother and i were driving home on chirstmas day. This guy in front of us was going about 10 MPH. Up ahead it widens and there was no median because of the neighborhood up ahead. There is also a turn lane on the right but it was all covered in snow. The guy moves right going 10 MPH like he is turning into the church from the turn lane so my brother moves left to start going around him and at the last second he puts on his left blinker and pulls a U-turn out of nowhere.

My brother couldnt stop and slides on the snow, turns right to try to miss the back end of the minivan but still ends up hitting it. Unfortunately the DB did nothing as it went underneath the rear of the miinivan and popped it up onto the hood/ headlight of his e28....

fail of the DBs that day
