NEW UPDATE FROM THE BAYBIMMERZ CREW!!!

I was informed today that Kris can no longer handle the caravan, so I will be sending out the Evite in the coming week, or sooner.

It will be different from the past caravan's that I've put together. I will only be doing the Pleasanton stop, beings I live in Pleasanton and will be leaving from there and heading over the Altamont and head down boring ol Hwy 5. It's 50 miles out of the way to go Hwy 101 to Pasadena, so for me and others that want to join me, will be going Hwy 5.
Believe me when I tell you how bummed I am about this, but I/we have to do what I/we have to do. I do not have time this year to do what I've done in the past, but it kills me to stand by and watch this caravan fade off in the distance, so to speak.

If there is anyone that wants to step up to the plate for a South Bay meeting point, please let me know ASAP and I can add the place, meeting and departure times to the Evite I will be sending out. I know there are MANY people that are in the South Bay and prefer to go down Hwy 101, so hopefully someone will step up.

Sooooo, I'm in the planning stages of getting the 400 plus address list for the Evite out in the coming days. I'm looking for a half way point for fuel, bathroom break and to stretch the legs, so after I figure these few details out, the Evite willl get out.

    See you all soon!

Who added me to that list?! <3

But really, on a more serious note - I need some convincing... Should I try and make this happen this year? I couldn't make it last year. Do we have a route yet? I-5 all the way to Pasadena?

drive down Friday - BF all day Saturday - drive home sunday? I'm going to have to ask for time off of work.

I'm leaning more toward the Wednesday drive. My brother is leaving on the 18th from here for a dual-sport ride down to LA and then down to Mexico/Baja, and since he'll be making many stops I'll be able to run into him with the Wednesday group.

You just need to take a Thurs and Friday off (2days).

We'll leave Wed afternoon (afterwork/school), be in San Francisco by thurs, Friday morning meetup with the Baybimmerz crew to roll down to Pasadena and be back in WA/OR very late Sunday night.

I'll be sending out PM's to confirm interests and I'll let you know the route details.

As for convincing, nothing beats being on the road with fellow bimmerheads in the californian sun!

and oh, plus the parties is Hollywood.

here's some pix from last yr's Bfest, you can spot few of our PNW crews in the pix (Hideous decals.. LOL!)

I'm in, I've been planning on leaving PDX Thursday morning and camping in the Redwoods Thursday night. My schedule may be flexible though, I'm curious as to what other guys are up for. Seems like the plan is either to leave in the middle of the night from Seattle on Wednesday night or pull a straight through starting before the butt crack of dawn on Friday. I'm hoping for a happy medium.

I have a double queen + sofa sleeper room booked a the Marriott for Friday & Saturday night. Still not sure who's all in for splitting, so lemme know if there is any interest.

Can someone rehash the BayBimmerz plan to me. What day and time will the drive depart? I'm currently up in the air about going. My car isn't running due to not being tuned (actually it hasn't fired up yet since I installed the standalone, should happen tomorrow night or Saturday morning), and I have a bunch of projects to do.. Turbo swap, re-do exhaust, subframe mount fix/new rear susp/new brakes all around/some paint work... Its really upsetting but we shall see.

If you have at least 1 codriver (shared cost of gas), you'll be spending about $500. That's with lodgings (shared rooms), fast foods and gas (shared).

Of course, if you guys decide to turn up the entertainment and booze a couple notches up, the $$$ could go as high you want it to.

The Baybimmerz crew are meeting up at Pleasanton on early friday morning (5/21). They will then cruize down I-5 to Pasadena, stopping at various stops for gas, restroom and lunch breaks.

I am figuring $700-900. $3-400 in gas depending on price, speed, and speeding (~2000mi@20mpg - you have 600mi less than I do and prolly better mpg), and $150/night in hotel, and food.

    I'm pumped for this event

I'm figuring around $600 hopefully... I'll be staying at a friend's place and trying to conserve as much gas as possible. Hopefully one or two co-drivers!

Damn, I've been looking forward to this for the past year but will need to bail out also. Will be going back to Michigan to visit a family member recently diagnosed with cancer and not doing very well. Hope everyone has a great time and take lots of pictures for those of us who can't make it this year.
