HowTo-> Engine: Camshaft Postion Sensor (CPS) replacement M62/M62TU Engine

    Time needed: 15 min
    Tools: Hex driver

Symptoms could be, hard start (hot) bad idle, dip of rpm when coming to a standstill

    Remove the acoustic cover

The M62-TU engine has 2 CPS sensors (M62 only one on the left)

CPS on the right side, undo the hex screw and pull out

    Clean the inside

Old and new (ONLY! use Bosch and no after market version, they don't work)

Follow the wire to the connection box and unplug it

    Insert the new one

Run back the wires and secure them

After replacement the hard starting and rough idle should be gone.

Have a technical question, don't send me a PM but post it on the board so others can benefit from it!
