Well as most of you know Im always looking to beef up the Bmw drivetrain.
Over a year ago we came up with the C4 to bmw adaptor.Travis and Oleg are
running this set up.I did not want to go to automatic so I said what trans
holds some good power I decided on the tko 600.These trans are strong and
easily rebuildable in about a hour.So I told Lenny
(alot of you had the pleasure of meeting him)What I wanted to do he said
get me a trans.I found a beefed up pro shift tko for a good price, for those
who want to know what a pro shift is it lets you shift very fast
with out letting off throttle basically pull the trans into the next gear
it is clutch assisted. You have to barley touch the clutch to shift.
Here is a mustang with proshift

This set use the bmw flywheel, starter, clutch and has a tilton release bearing.
Im hoping this with the CES diff conversion will cure the rest of the drivetrain
weak points.
Here is surplus 2 zf 5 speed trannys and one rear subframe. As a few know having a back up
saved me on track rental weekend.
My old bent trans with my custom Tilton hyd.release bearing.
Tko all bolted up in place (Sweeeeeeeet)
Here is the master mind lenny.
Just thought I post to let you know what I have been up I have done a few other thing too
but they will stay hush hush.

Progress is scary.
This will go into the race chassis or the Red Ant?
So it'll be a 4 or 5 speed?
It seems to sit a bit low.
Once you get the rear done
you'll be pulling a sh1tton of wheelies.

Gotta love Lenny! Glad to see the car is going to be stronger next season...
SO street feel
but rocket fast.
i knew there was a reason for the queit down there, i was hoping you were busy doing something! Awesome to see this come together. I was looking at those transmissions but didnt know if the would hold up with high hp. We might need to talk about this... my trans with 10 passes is making noise already...

Cardcounter buys ZFs and subframes instead of sleeping pills. Bad ass.
Card counter, curious why did u not choose the
BMW e 46 6 speed or e46 m3 6 speed manual transmissions?
Was it a fitment issue or just a functional choice, I heard these handle good HP.
Thanks

Oh Ulysses you don't know how good it is to see you surface with another solution to the e36 weak links!
I am so happy to see you moving forward with the red ant and going for a quicker ET and faster trap! It is going to be really fun to watch you make pass after pass with all these stout parts.
I am rewarding my wife with a new baby and a bigger house so the cookie pile is getting pretty big. I can definitely dive into that pile and use it to fly out once again so I can see you run this beast first-hand at MIR!
I'd love to see you run the other car as well though.
Man that is a great idea! As far as the conversion... I am curious as to how the shifter location is in relation to stock... placement, height etc... as well as effort in shifting. Inquiring minds want to know!

has it been tested that the e46 m3 tranny cant handle your power on the strip?
or is this tranny just cheaper and easier to rebuild etc.
great to see you happy with your solution to the problem. i also spent some time researching other transmission options and didnt like the gearing in the ones i considered. the only work around to this, that i saw, was to also swap the diff to get similar ratios we see with our stock gearing. a sagway(sp?) into this question; are you still using a bmw 188mm differential.
oh man, love the pops between shifts from the ignition cut.
so sick. sounds like alll the ALMS race cars

Looks friggin sweet Ulysses! If, it is able to launch anything like that mustang and not break anything, then you will set!! It sure sounds like the mustang was shifting fast!
Quick question: are the 2 SS braided lines running to the inside of the Old ZF trannys for the Hydraulic release bearing?? If so, what was the benefit to that release bearing??
This is my signature....
That's super cool. I would never do it myself, but still very impressive.

They have broke a few e46 trans and like I said this trans is rebuildable in about a hour and any internal part is available from tremec
Im running a 210 big diff 3.91 gears
Yes they were for the hydraulic bearing. It was
alot easier to modulate had alot more control
