So we took the challenge at my shop "Impressive Auto Center" to use my E36 as a sample on vinyl wrapping before we offer it to our customers...
i leave the rest to the pictures....

I know there are places on the west coast that will do it from 400-800 bucks. But they're a dime a dozen over there.
always thought about doing this to mine, going white instead of black though.
if you dont mind, how many yards of material did you guys use? i pick it up in bulk as well so area will help more than cost when figuring what ill use.
I thought I saw that Estoril for sale on craigslist
Nice wrap on the mirrors! That's the hardest part of the whole car because it's the only part on the e36 with heavy compound curves.
For you guys who are interested, you can source vinyl like this at any sign shop (I personally work at FastSigns, there's 500 across the US so they're very easy to find). There are hundreds of colors, specialty patterns and effects and qualities you can pick from. Just measure each piece individually (Extra is ALWAYS better) and have an overestimated total when you are pricing it out. Keep in mind that wrapping is not by any means a solution in place of a paint job, it is just an alternative. It WILL get nicks in it, and at the very very best of conditions you will get a 5 year life out of it, while 1-2 years is more common. Removal also becomes increasingly difficult past this point. Go with a "cast" vinyl, not "calendered", and this is very important as a cast vinyl will be much more forgiving when installing. Also, if you have any freshly painted parts, you need to wait 30 days minimum for the paint to outgass properly. If you don't, when you remove the vinyl you will be taking all that paint with it.
The wrapping looks good but it just doesn't work on an E36. In fact, well at least imo, VERY FEW cars can pull off the matte look.
You covered up estoril?
Ban. Now.
Also, are those 19"?
Did you wrap the spokes on your wheels as well? I see that they went from blue to black.
Give a man a match, and he'll be warm for a minute. Light a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.
so many asking for prices, but no answers.
Shark Edit is coming. When? We do not know
the rims are 19 and yes we wrapped them too.
as for prices we still didnt put a price tag on the job because this was the first job it took way longer than expected.
I heard some shops charge 2K - 4K for similar jobs. Its more time consuming than a full paint job

I like the flat black e36. I'm envisioning it properly lowered w/ a nice LTW splitter and clear/smoked fogs/corners.
How heat resistant is this stuff? Would the wheel wrap burn/peel if the car was tracked hard (wheels get very hot to the touch)?
Would be great to run some funky colored (and protected) wheels at the track, then just peel it off when you get home.

$2-4k, good luck. Like the guys have said, there are a lot of shops willing to do this well under $1k
