My DSC light is on and the reason is a steering angle sensor ...
Dealer already cleaned ABS error codes 2 times but after 6-8 month it's pop up again
Dealer wants $$$ to install a new sensor ... but I know the old is good as once errors are cleaned all work fine,
no light ON till I do not park car wrong whatever
No error code from OBD2 scanner and i dont have GT1 to check ABS errors
Battery disconnect do not help believe me I tried not once for >24H ... this light already bother me 500 miles
Somebody have idea how I can clean ABS errors without GT1 ?
Thanks !

Genisys OTC will do it for sure.
It's not cheap.

I have it, it's a great all around tool for a shop, but I don't think anything topps what each dealer uses.
Its likely a speed sensor. Dont take it to the stealership, find a local indy who will do it for a fair price
I would stick to a Peake or GT1 code reader if thats the route you are looking at going

Fix the car correctly.
Dsc may save your life one day.
What a strange idea...The car keeps throwing the code because the the part is not fixed.
Replace the sensor and clear the code after, it won't come up again then.
A sensor should be about 100 bucks or so.

^^^ this!
My Carsoft V6.5 will clear ACS/DSC/ABS codes; however, it will not code new modules to the car.
some new cars still come without any ABS or traction control.
with that said, DSC is pretty impressive, albeit intrusive, in its abilities to reel the car back in from being in trouble.

Ya ? show me in 100$ ... it's $230 + labor 5*$80 - dealer said > $600 for this job
Also when code is cleaned all is fine and the issue pop ups when i park car on some crappy ground ... last time it happens one year ago and now again -
looks like this sensor needs to be recalibrated ( i put a new steering rack last year ) dont think i will buy from dealer - he only wants to rip you off
No one indy around has a GT1 ... also don't want to buy some china GT1 crap in 800$ which will fail in 1 year and OEM are big $$$

maybe its finally not a sensor but your abs/dsc module is out... jsut putting it out there... im sure bimmerfiver can chime in on this... my 530s module went out a year ago and i havent had a problem since....
I hope it's not a module
I know it is steering wheel sensor because dealer checked the same issue
one year ago and said it was steering wheel sensor error and it can be cleaned only with GT1 so i paid and fixed
BTW, this happened after some time when I put a new steering rack and did alignment
Now again it happened this year... how much this Carsoft V6.5 cost ? don't really want to replace this sensor ... if it happens once per year i am ok to fix it like this

Why don't you just hit up someone who's parting out a car and get the sensor, then clear it once and for all?
this can be a good idea ... i was thinking about the same
in case of DIY it will cost $100 for sensor and $100 to clean codes
any link to a good DIY for this job ?

ok
got GT1
ran full test, cleaned all Steering angle errors - still error
ran test again with calibration procedure , turn wheels left / turn wheels right , no luck
This is my problem :
-----------------------------------
61 Steering angle sensor identification
the fault is currently present
DIS was not able to resolve it, not Diagnostic, not a Coding sections
Tried to clean code with INPA , no luck
INPA said :
----------------------------------------------
Steering angle adjustment necessary
Symptom of failed Steering angle sensor ? Or my ABS Bosch 5.7 control unit is bad ?
I have no issue except of DSC light is ON . Car is 2001 525i
