Question starter mods

If you had 1000-1500 bucks as well as a e36 328is. What performance mods would you buy?

depends on how you drive. If you want more power, go with the above mods. Personally, I would focus on suspension, tires, and brakes.

I would spend the money on suspension. Your not gonna get much power for a 1000.

Mod No.0 - Fix what's broken first.

Mod No.1 - Tighten the nut behind the wheel. Tires, brakes, and some HPDE's.

I'm a big maintenance guy so I would say start there. Complete cooling system, motor and trans mounts. Spark plugs, fuel filter, cabin air filter, all oils (diff and tranny), add reinforcements to strut and shock towers. Sock struts, new blank rotors and some high performance pads.

Dinana are conservative and expensive. But also work very well with BMWs.

I don't know about a chip. I want to say Conformi or something are pretty good. (Not even close other than it starts with a C)

Exhaust. I don't know about whole systems, but as cat back systems go Essman is good. There are a lot of other good systems on the market as well.

As for intake I think it's a waste of money. Just debafle the airbox, drop in a K&N and call it a day. It removes a lot of the restriction and opens it up a lot. The stock air box pulls air in from the front of the car anyways.

I actually was in that same situation:
1. Fix what is needed and prevention/wear points
2. Suspension (Bilstein Sport Shocks w/ Eibach Pro Kit)
3. Cold Air Intake (KnN)
4. Exhaust (AcktiveAutowerke MIA)
5. 17in M Contours w/ oversize RE960AS Tires

I already had an E36 M3 in the stable so had to go lower and get the handling tight plus open up the engine; sounds beautiful; also some cosmetic modifications and some interior/stereo work.
