5 spd swap wierd clutch sound and feeling in pedal

alright so i torqued the flywheel on then the clutch on good the clutch is working fine but making wierd horrible noises. when i start to release the clutch a little it gets a whine and in gets stronger and stonger untill it is completely disengaged........ could that be the throwout bearing going out? i can feel it in the pedal as well. also another question i had is whats up with the wierd 2 peice flywheels that have the front half the spins a little then locks? just odd to me i have never seen it before

Yep definetly a throw out bearing.

The flywheel is a dual mass flywheel, which is unique to the "e" cars. You can convert to the more popular single mass flywheel but engine management adjustments will have to be made since the single mass flywheel lacks the magnetic pickups for the speed sensors in your bellhousing currently.

Some M20 single mass flywheels have the reference pin. I have one.

im pretty sure my tranny didnt have the pickups on it. the 2 other sensors on the bellhousing right? they werent there on my tranny. its out of a 325i.

so i tested it while the car was in neatral and its on at a certain point and always at a certain point in how far i push the pedal down. once i am past that point it goes away. i currently have no tranny crossmember so i cant really go drive the car.
