e46 MF Steering wheel transplant - audio wiring question (not the normal stuff)

Evening All,

I want to transplant a e46 wheel in to my e31 and have question about the audio controls.

I have an Alpine aftermarket head unit and have bought all the adaptors etc, no worries that.

But as I dont have the e46 loom, can anyone tell me about the plug below?

It has a Red, white, grey and blue wire to the plug. Which wires do I use? (I presume we have +ve, -ve and 2 signals (one of which I'll use).

Really appreciate any help.

The Bentley manual for the e36 has electrical diagrams. I'm not sure if they print one for the e46 or if it has the electrical diagrams or if the steering wheel controls would be included.

That might be a good place to look. Maybe try the E46 forums to see if anyone has one who can look for you.

Good luck - Jay
