Smile 2000 540i help-low coolant message

I'm new to the forum and glad to have joined. I'm getting a low coolant message and have refilled it a few times but cannot find the leak. I'm also getting a vibration when I hit 55mph. Any advise?

I would start by removing the engine cover under the front of the car because that catches quite a bit of fluid.

Once removed, start and run the car for a little bit (let it at least get to operating temperature). Observe to see if their are any drip marks.

By not driving the car, it will reduce leaking coolant running to somewhere else or drying up.

good luck.

also look for any white residue in the engine bay and hood insulation. For instance, if the water pump is leaking and coolant hits the fan blades...when the spatter dries...you should see evidence of where it was sprayed.

Was there anything that you just had done to the car that would affect coolant level? Like change a water pump, expansion tank, or radiator, etc? If so, make sure the car was bled of air...run the engine with the heater turned all the way up and temp set to 90 degrees F...open the bleed screw until the air stops bubbling out of the expansion tank bleed screw.

Like already mentioned...look for any leaks from the hoses, radiator, and other coolant system components.

Check your heater hoses located between the rear of the engine and the firewall.

Driver side...

Passenger side...

My cousin and I checked the diagnostics, turns out it's the thermostat. thanks.

Ok, got a second opinion-the drip drip of the coolant may be coming from the expansion tank? The car does not overheat and starts dripping when I close the expansion tank after refill. If i leave it open, it does not leak. Any ideas?
