resetting my airbag light

is there any OBD2 scan tool out there that will reset the airbag light or do i need to spend $130 on the peake SRS airbag reset tool? thanks in advance!

Resetting it without fixing the problem (if there is one) will make the light go on again.

take it to a shop and ask if they can reset it

To answer the question, NO!

You have to get the Peake SRS tool or the BMW GT1 to reset the airbag system.

Try asking in your local subforum here on bfc if anyone has an SRS reset tool. There are a lot of friendly, helpful owners that might live in your area.

yeah the light came on because i turned the key on with the passenger seat out...i live in honolulu, hi. the dealer here wants $150 to reset it. so it looks like i will be getting the reset tool. thanks for the info guys!

Wow, what a rip-off! It literally takes one minute to pop the hood, put the reset tool on the connector thing, and press the reset button. Freakin' ridiculous....

Yes buy the tool and than resell the Peake tool or keep it and help others out or use if for your uses...
