Exclamation ACS & ABS Light ON!! HELP!! NEWBIE!

Today I got my '97 e36 ///M Sedan with 98k miles. What is worrying me a bit is that when I start the car and start driving the ACS & ABS comes ON!! and when I Stop and Turn off & on the car quickly it doesnt light up until I start driving again. Any suggestion on what this might be??

If the lights turns on as soon as you start rolling it's probably a wheel sensor, if they turn on while your moving it could be the brake speed sensor on your brake booster.

you need to get it scanned at the dealer. it can be a whole myraid of things. i went though this a few months back and my LF wheel speed sensor took a dump

You could also try cleaning the abs sensors on the front drivers side and rear passanger side wheels......real easy...

its probably the way sensor 34331182594. i had this happen during the summer. the car would randomly turn on the abs and asc light. its off the next time i start the car and randomly turns on after driving around.

i took out the sensor, disassembled it and resoldered the contacts that connect to the 2 connector pins.

There is a DIY on the forum. do a search.

its about $110 for a new part.
