| Z3 (E36/7, E36/8) (1996 - 2002) In 1996 BMW added the Z3 to the lineup. First available only with the 1.9 liter engine, the Z3 went on to carry every 6 cylinder produced between 1996 and 2002. A fun, sporty little 2 seater came both in convertible and coupe form. Being a bit of a “parts bin” car, the Z3 is part E30, part E36, but all original. |

Wooden E-brake handle loose
My wooden e-brake handle just slides on and off the e-brake metal handle. Clearly the glue dried up. Any suggestions on what adhesive to use to reattach the wooden handle. It matches the steering wheel and shift knob and all are in nice shape and I like the look so I'd prefer to keep it and save my money.
Suggestions appreciated. Cainer |

There are a few things that would work. It depends if you ever want to be able to remove it? Gorilla glue is strong stuff but I'd be a little hesitant in case the handle breaks and you need to remove it.

I wonder if they use adhesive only on the wooden handle. I have taken off a few of the black leather handle, and they were all just friction fit. There was no residue on the metal lever beneath, or on the inside of the leather handle.
I don't have a specific recommendation for adhesive, but you'd want something that dries somewhat slowly. That way you could apply it to the metal lever, then slide the wood handle on and let it dry completely.

Maybe silicone adhesive would be the way to go..........It would be strong enough to hold and if you wanted to remove the handle just heat it up with a hair dryer and the adhesive would loosen up.
