Alpine White e36 M3 - Black Rims VS Silver Rims

What are everyone's thought? I have an Alpine White e36 M3 sedan w/ Dove Grey interior. I'm thinking ASA AR1 Wheels, 18's actually. I'm just not sue whether to go with the silver or black w/ silver lip. I like them both, but curious for several opinions. Btw, my windows are tinted if that makes a difference...

Thanks for your help.

black with polished lip looks cheap if they aren't quality wheels. Im a bigger fan of silver. Don't buy ASAs, they are cheap and ugly. Save up and get yourself some fm5s or maybe rs gt's

I favor the OEM silver..........................or gold/bronze w/ polished lip on alpine.

Black seems to diminish the wheels' detail and look empty--they become voids on the car. Maybe this is just a photography effect.

Wow!!! I actually thought that most of you would say black like my friends have been saying... I actually prefer the silver myself, but I'm getting pushed to go w/ black w/ silver lip on my white car. Either way, thanks for all of your thoughts.

What's really the difference between ASA AR1'a and BBS RS GT's? They look the same, just BIG price difference. (And are these all basically the same design as the CSL rims?)

Do what YOU think looks good. Who cares what your friends think?

CSL rims would look awesome.. Hmm I've never seen them on Avus before, that might look good on my car!

On a white car, all black would look good but if it has a polished lip then silver would look best. I have AR1s, no problems.

I'm not worried what my friends will think. I will do what I want to do regardless. I was just curious what the general concensus was on the subject.

And still, the CSL's... Are they basically what the ASA AR1's and BBS RS GT's were modeled from?

And again, what is the dif between AR1's and RS GT's besides price?

Well, the AR1's are somewhat similar in looks, but definitely a different wheel. The RS-GT's are forged, stronger, lighter - the real deal. I love those wheels, but could never justify putting them on a car that is just over twice the cost of the set lol Personally, i don't care for black wheels in pictures, but like them in person...

Silver on your car looks awesome. IMO, black wheels can look very awesome too, but I think the silver really does the trick for your car.

I like silver... how about a compromise though with Gun Metal?

btw, if you're interested in selling your DSII's after you pick up new wheels, let me know.

you said it, you prefer to go with silver yourself. But is "getting pushed to go with black with silver lip" Mind telling us how old your friends are and how many cars or wheels have they owned/gone through?

Regardless, I agree what everyone else said about black rims. I'd definitely go with silver over black.

GUNMETAL!
Or stock silver.
Bronze/Gold is always a good option too.

I think a silver wheel will look the best on a white car. However, I don't think you can go wrong either way.

Silver.

In 99% of all cases, black looks cheap.

If the car is going to be daily driven, keep it silver, keep it classy.

black is ok for two uses only: track wheels and snow wheels.

Hyper black CSL's are my favorite rims on our cars, especially on Alpine white. I'm jealous of your Alpine color btw. I love cosmos and all, but I really am a white car kinda guy. And I agree with the other comments about black making it look cheap unless they are really expensive/nice rims.

I have a silver finish on my CSL's, I'm in the middle of the same debate as you. Definitely considering gunmetal/black chrome
