So I have always heard and thought once the codes started flashing they would cycle through and show each code. Well, on mine the same code just flashes over, and over, and over, and over ad infinitum. I sat there for a good 8 minutes (yeah, I had too much time on my hands) watching the same damn 1222 code flash.
Finally started playing with the throttle, holding it, pushing 5 times, pushing once, etc. Suddenly it went to a new code. Waited a while, started playing, and it advanced again. Then finally got the 1000 I was waiting on.
Is it normal that you have to push the pedal in some pattern in order to see each code? If so, what's the pattern? I couldn't quite figure out what triggered it.
Searching didn't help much since so many threads have similar words but aren't what I'm looking for.

after first code is displayed stomp again 5 times and it will go to the next code(should there be one) and to clear codes you hold the pedal down for ten seconds.
OK cool, I'd never heard that you had to do that to go to the next one in any of the instructions. Thanks.

you have to do it (5 stomps for each code) until you get code just get 1000. I think the codes are alos in order (i.e. highest or lowest code # shown 1st).

+1 in all the writeups, and the Bentley for both the E36 & E34 I've never once seen it mentioned that you have to push 5 times for each code, or to get to the 1000 code. It was pissing me off that I couldn't get to the 1000 code to reset it cuz it just kept blinking the same thing over and over.
Thanks for the tip, guys.

Thanks! This was driving me crazy. NOWHERE does it say to do the stomp for each code.
