Z3 (E36/7, E36/8) (1996 - 2002) In 1996 BMW added the Z3 to the lineup. First available only with the 1.9 liter engine, the Z3 went on to carry every 6 cylinder produced between 1996 and 2002. A fun, sporty little 2 seater came both in convertible and coupe form. Being a bit of a “parts bin” car, the Z3 is part E30, part E36, but all original.

what says ye, wheel gurus?

is this do-able? i'd probably want to go +1 on the tire width to reduce the obvious stretch going on here...but will that put me beyond the realm of possibility?

wheel porn to the nth...

these are what I originally wanted for the coupe in like 2000, until kinesis quoted me $1200 in just shipping for the wheels. $4k is full boat new retail but thems some beautiful and rare discontinued wheels. Good luck!

it's not a matter of whether they'll fit, it's if they'll fit with tires that aren't wildly stretched like those that are on it now. anyone w/ radical setups, please chime in!

Kinesis Supercups are absolutely gorgeous wheels. I'd kill for that set if the fronts could be reduced to 1.5-2" lip and the rears widened to 4" outers.

The fronts are gonna be an issue... with different tires.
I run 9.5 in the front with 245 rubber and I rub. I have DA's with shorty springs and the wheel/tires are about 3mm away from the strut.

The only way to pull this off is to run mass camber (which could still hit the hood - depending on ride height) or get different lips for the front.

I was going to say, how the hell can you run 10" et0 wheels up front...that sounds ridiculous. Thatcher, give us a pic of those on an M Coupe!

The Rears are Golden with that tire setup, maybe could even go wider with a 285 or 295 30's. The front lips are going to stick out 2" further than my 19 x 9 et 39's. Here is a pic of those. FYI, the tires are 265 35's in the front. I figure, you would have to 65/155/18 to make it clear with a nice stretch LOL. The Backspacing clears by an inch on that setup, so in theory, to try and make it work, you could then run a 25 offset on 18 x 10, then run a 215 40 or 40 or 45 18 and you would be in business. Full inch of poke in the front instead of an unreasonable 2! So, major body work and reworking of the headlights and liners for any amount of turn radius.

Sorry, those were the best pics of the side profile I had. The fronts would be a fun fitment if the backspacing were dialed in.
