High hit; most likely SUV or truck.
Often these "salvage" yard will pull the cars before selling them to make them look straight when in fact they are not (although this doesn't seem to be one)

ummmmm it ACTUALLY reads " Up for sale is a manual 2001 BMW 540i with 148k miles on it. It has a salvage title as it was hit in the front. However, the damage could be fixed and the car restored back to driving condition. The interior is in very good condition and is gray in color. The car does have the sport package and sport wheels, including a spare. The body is in great shape (besides the driver fender and hood) with no real noticeable dents or dings.

The worst of the damage is in front of the driver side front tower. Pictures show the damage.

The car also has the rear sunshades. Comes with the front bumper as well as one headlight and a few other parts pictured separately. The car runs and drives very nicely. The car has a build date of 9/00.

Any questions please ask. Buyer is responsible for vehicle pickup. Thanks for looking!"

Would you expect the entire front end to be missing?? Including the radiator mount front bumper and several other expensive components??

I think some of you guys are missing the point of the add..... I SURE that what the seller mean by "body is in great shape" is that Obviously besides the front accident, the wrest of the car is in Great shape, which would make for a nice car to "fix up"...
