I think the polished lip on the wheel matches the polish better than it would the black!!

Shiny wheels = shiny window trim.

Car looks nice.

If you use a really high gloss black it will match great. I used a really high gloss black auto paint on my kidneys and grille and it looks more like black chrome then the usual flat black shadowline type stuff.

I'll try to post a pic soon so you see what I mean.

For the meantime heres the paint I used:

Probably the best spray paint I have ever used. It doesn't come out of the can at a crazy high pressure either so you can easily lay down multiple coats.

+1

I shadowlined my trim and NEVER looked back.

Another view to compare the bumpers to the trim (and the better wheels lol):

I just think that it looks a lot cleaner with the black on red. The chrome looks really out of place on a red car, and doesn't contrast well. Shiny chrome on red? Really?
If it was a black car, I'd keep the chrome, but otherwise, keep it simple and shadowline it. As far as the bumpers go, the diving boards will ALWAYS look out of place, no matter what you do to them, so it doesn't really matter. Shadowlining, in my opinion, is something to do to make the car look a little less hideous (as far as the bumpers go).

I am all for the polish. it adds not only class but contrast to the rest of the car. Just make sure you keep buffed and shinny.

Shiny diving board or euro metal bumpers = polished trim

I like your car the way it is. Even if it had plastic bumpers I'd leave it shiny to go with the wheels in your case.
