8 Series (E31) (1991 - 1997) As the last E24 rolled off the production line in 1989, its replacement was quick on its heels to fulfill the fantasies of those looking for a touring coupe with all of the luxury, performance, and prestige of a BMW, only now with both 8 and 12 cylinder engines.

Now add some of them to the underside of the side skirts to light up the underneath, maybe a color... seriously though good for you kid, I'm glad you're happy with the mod and good that you're proud of it.

i kno it looks ricer and blue in the pics, in reality it has a nice, white, bright look. its very similar to audi lights.

I think it looks great, I really enjoy it because I like the A5/S5 LED parking lights... great work! (I've found that if you enjoy the time spent customizing and are proud of it then who cares if it's what you really want . )

Cheers,
Thomas

Each to his own I suppose, if you like them then great. Not my cup of tea though, way too ricer and I think it's a feature that Audi will probably wish they didn't do in some years as it becomes very chavvy. Much the same way as Lexus stopped making "Lexus style" rear lights.

Oh no...8ers are just so classically beautiful, these frills are unnecessary and out of place.

But, as is a popular saying on this forum, "to each his own."

Same as turn signal lights in the mirrors. Nice feature maybe, but definitely not on an E31. These cars don't that kind of individualization. JMHO

Koursh, great job. I think they look great and as many here say to each his own. After taking all the above comments consider yourself a full member of the forum. Just remember when the guys don't comment then they don't care. It's great to have young guys like you involved in the 8s.

2 camps...classic vs custom/quasi-exotic individualization. I believe there is a middle ground that many can appreciate. I personally like some the blending.

BTW, I am Steve from Sunny Florida...I haven't formally introduced myself not knowing the etiquette of the board at first.

I have always been a beemer guy, owning 3's and 5's...then on what my wife would call an "impulse buy," I bought the dream. Within minutes of driving my 8, I was hooked forever. I only wished I would have educated myself a little before buying using this board...BUT life doesn't work that way sometimes. Not much regret on my purchase though, every time I cruise in my 8.

This board is invaluable, as I have spent countless hours combing thru the archived posts. THANKS to all.

I like it! Looks great. I was thinking of something for the black strip in rear bumper.... something in red so when I hit the brakes the Lexus' and Honda's that seem to always try to attach themselves will back off.

These picture i posted up make it look ricer but that's because the LED strips come out looking extremely bright and blue in the pics, in reality when i look at it, it does not look ricer at all. look at the last pic i posted up, its just a bright white strip of light just like the audi lights. i like the look a lot and im glad i went through with this mod regardless of whether you guys think it looks ricer or not or whether you dont think it should be done to an 8 series or not. Now that i finished installing this mod im gna take some rlly good pics sometime this weekend and ill take it during the evening when it wont come out looking so blue, maybe u guys will change ur opinion maybe not. Another thing i want to say is that its not like this is going to be the final look of my car. I might change the look when it comes to the lighting sometime in the future as well, who knows.
