Just bought a 2003 525i and having some problems
I just bought a silver 525i with 125000 miles on it for 8200 bucks. It seems to be in great shape but over the last month things keep breaking on it. Most of the problems have been minor such as the driver window will not roll up or down and the right lowbeam just went out, but there has been a knocking sound under the hood that usually happens randomly (not all the time) when driving around the city. It doesn't happen when I accelerate or turn and I don't loose power when it happens, but it seems like there is something loose that is knocking around and I am getting worried. It usually seems to happen when I am in second and third gear and I don't hear it when I am on the highway. Have any of you guys experienced this? I am praying its not serious.
Another question.... Are 525i bmws with a m badge on the steering wheel and on the stick shift modified at all or is that just for looks? Last edited by ccs; 11-10-2009 at 07:53 AM.. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

VIN Decoder
i tried to find the link to a VIN decoder that tells you what options came with your individual vehicle. it didn't work. ask here for someone who has a working link to that. if the car has the m package for real, then the upgrades are real too, like the sport suspension, etc. if so, consider yourself lucky...very desirable package.gl
