1991 - 1999 (E36) (1991 - 1999) The first modern 3 Series, the E36, was the model that paved the way for the 3 Series to be named "Car of the Year" every year since the model was driving off showroom floors. Radically redesigned in 1992, the E36 was not the same 3 Series as the E21 and E30. Larger, less boxy in design, and equipped with a dual overhead cam engine, multilink rear suspension, and a more finished interior, the E36 balances sport with luxury.

new 325is - opinions/suggestions welcome

just purchased. h&r lowering springs and shocks, limited slip diff (included in winter package), mContour wheels with new hankook's, cool air intake, short shift kit, magnaflow exhaust. this is definitely upgrade of DD from a 97 civic cx.

let me know what you think!

I'll likely keep it stock since I don't have a job at school and I'll be saving my money for repairs if any problems present themselves.
If I get the opportunity however, I was planning on putting a chip in it, possibly getting an m3 front valance and tint on the windows; not too sure what will end up happening, I'm open to any ideas.

Forgot to mention the front strut bar in the OP by the way, sorry.

Can't be keeping it stock...there is already a lot done to it. haha you can however save your money for repairs and leave it how it already is. Looks great though. welcome.

Welcome to bfc. Do you happen to know when the cooling system was replaced?

Unfortunately I don't. I have gotten a 'check coolant level' message on my computer when I turn it off, but the coolant level looks fine at the moment.

Agreed. I think the clear corners on black look a tad bit rice.

What does everyone think about 10-15mm wheel spacers on the rear? I think it might look more flush with the fender flares.

Was planning on getting a euro plate for the front. How can I get rid of the license plate molding for the time being?

The car came with these mods when I purchased it. I was very happy, everything is very well done and stuff that I would have done.

Only problems are the sunroof opens but won't close and it has a large crack in the windshield (not worried).

Oh u made it sound like u bought all those mods. What was the purchase price in total?

Go to pelicanparts.com look at license plate moldings.

Search doing a carbon fiber sunroof insert. Increases handling, acceleration, weight reduction is big in performance.

No it came with all that, plus a momo shift knob that I like a lot haha. I paid $2800 for it, looks like it's seen track time in the past. 170,700 miles.

Thanks for the link, and I will definitely be looking into the carbon fiber sunroof insert. If you find a good link for it please let me know.

No, it came with all the mods, however they were all mods that I like and would probably have done if I had had the money. Purchased for $2800, it looks like it's seen track time.

Thanks for the carbon fiber sunroof insert, I'll be looking into that.

nice find. although i don't think limited slip diff was uincluded in the winter package. only m3's came with LSD's. It couldv'e been swapped in. Only one way to find out.

I would be carefull with the subframe mounts as they can rip out from the chassis.

Yes it was. My 94 318is had one, so did my current '92 325is, but a bearing was howling so now it's got an open diff Both cars have/had winter package. Ratio is 3.15, M3's had 3.23, people talk about this on a weekly basis...

+1 for stock corners on black car = sechs.

i would stay away from using a 318i diff on a 6 cylinder. it might detonate.

Pretty certain they're the same diff... not sure why you were saying this to begin with though, nobody mentioned putting a 318 diff onto a 6cyl

(5 speed)3.0 m3 has 315 lsd, 3.2 m3 has 323lsd which is what i have in my car. My 94 325i has winter package which includes heated mirrors, washer nozzles, and traction, no LSD....

the 318 has a small case diff...
i believe 318's with winter package had lsd, but again its a small case diff.
i'm pretty sure.

cross reference realoem its in there.

Well i know the car has the winter and sport packages, and the posting said the car had an lsd when i purchased it, it didn't say it was a stock one, but by the research i did it looked like the 94 325is' came with lsd on the winter package. Plus it feels like it has one through the corners... how can i be sure it has one?
