| 1991 - 1999 (E36) (1991 - 1999) The first modern 3 Series, the E36, was the model that paved the way for the 3 Series to be named "Car of the Year" every year since the model was driving off showroom floors. Radically redesigned in 1992, the E36 was not the same 3 Series as the E21 and E30. Larger, less boxy in design, and equipped with a dual overhead cam engine, multilink rear suspension, and a more finished interior, the E36 balances sport with luxury. |

New suspension Sound... Help!
Yesterday I got in my car, and it seems like something on the passenger front side suspension is making a terrible creaking noise when I go over any bumps. In fact, when I got out and put some pressure on the right front quarter panel and pushed down above the wheel, it makes an awful "door creaking" noise that is brutal. I just put new Control arms and LCAB's.. and the car was running as smoothly as it ever was. I'm assuming that the problem is the shock, maybe the springs... everything is stock. Can these things be lubricated? Thanks for you help!

Were the parts you used OEM?
Did this start as soon as you replaced the LCABs and control arms or how long after the install did the noise start? Did you do the work yourself?

It did not start when I had the control arms or bushings installed. They were done professionally.
It started out of nowhere- and really sounds like the springs creaking in a crappy old car. The noise happens even when you push directly down about the passenger front wheel. |
