Exclamation Car Died on My way Home last night.. A lot of rough rattling from the engine..

So I drive an 86' 325e, and the car has ran great for the as long as Ive had it..

This whole week it was running fine with out any issues and even last night it was running great. After pulling over to get gas I turned the car on to a crazy rattling sound along with a semi rough idle. It literally sounded like there were bolts flying around.

I decided to take my chances and at least try and get home but when I drove down the Block the car bogged out and died on me. I tried turning it over again but it just seized up. It smelt like burnt plastic and rubber..
It was dark, when I went to check the engine nothing immediately seemed out of place.

Any Ideas as to what might have Happened?

Possible broken rocker arm that lead to timing belt failure.

Sorry to hear.

I was Thinking the Worst, But Oddly enough, and embarrassing enough, I think its the Starter, haha..

I hadn't touched the car since i got it towed back to my house until today, i had someone look in the engine when i went to start it, and fired up after a little noise, so we'll see ill replace that this week sometime, hopefully thats whats wrong with it.
