MIR 10-30-09 pics galore

Took forever to get these pics even downloaded and resized. I have done 0 editing to them as I simply dont have the time.

Was a FANTASTIC event last Friday. Got to see several new records and some very serious cars hitting the 6's and 7's without breaking a sweat.

Donovan in his black e30 smashed the US record for a BMW by a half a second...which is huge. That was an epic run with a 1.41 short time!!!!

His car launching like a scaulded cat

his epic timeslip....check the nails, he's earned this time

Select others

Beautiful classic 'stang w/ twin turbo's in the trunk!

9 second Magnum! Broke his blower belt several times this day

Twin turbo Viper running in the 7's......so composed and wickedly fast

battle of the AW e92's....M3 close lane 335 far lane

Clay's new sl600....5th fastest recorded on his 1st run! 11.55 at 120mph on all seasons!

funniest looking car there

all motor 540 ci Hemi putting down constant 9.05's at 149mph....I think he ran that time 3 times in a row....very impressive and dialed in

Brand new sl65 snapped his driveshaft on his 1st run......1000lbft will do that for you!

Jamie's new GTR, he didnt bring his new ZR1

A wicked Firebird

2 mustang's owned by the same guy, he's the one in blue. One's a promod and the other is an outlaw

Purging the nitrous

This monster is getting ready for paint....hit high 6's on mid boost

All the photos (nearly 200) can be found here:

Enjoy

Donovan repped real well for the BMW guys!

Yea there were some BADASS cars there. The grey mustang trapped 233mph!!!

There was a full interior drag radial viper that ran 7.65 @ 184.

I dont remember what the black turbo mustang ran, I think it was low 7s or something stupid like that lol

The next MIR rental we are doing is December 5th if anyone wants to come out

Here are a few vids taken by member "Zahanma" on mbworld:

Pro mod mustang:
Turbo Viper makin it look easy:
9s SRT8:

I'm sure you've all seen Donovans Incredible run by now.

Should have more soon

Lol, that is a good time slip pic... That was right after that run. I had just made 4-5 passes tuning and then one where the clutch slipped in third. I think it just got a little too much heat in it in a short amount of time. I knew it shouldn't be slipping at the power i thought i was at and there was no oil or anything leaking to possibly get on the discs. Soooo, I put it on the trailer and pulled the slave cylinder out and made sure none of the pressure plate bolts had loosened up or something weird like that. Of course I didn't bring any rubber gloves with me or hand cleaner... a box of rags was all i had with me.

That was a long day for me!!

Great pics and vid. I have to admit though turbo's are great and all but a big block V8 loping away and revving up is music to my ear's.

Any vids of the 233mph pass?

I couldnt agree more......I miss my '69 Camaro every single day. It would put a on my face just idling. at 7,000rpms it sounded so pissed off!

no videos that I know of. I missed that pass

he was dialing it in at around 180mph then turned up the boost just a touch.....and increased over 50mph on the big end! That wasnt at full boost either if you believe that.

I can agree with that, but I will tell you watching that Viper was INSANE. it was so balanced and sorted out. No drama, just GONE. It was pretty quiet too.

That's exactly why racers use a Powerglide. Just one solid smooth propulsion down the track. Of course that sort of motion is going to net great short times and great ETs, but God how boring.
