SCCA autox class for gutted and caged E46 M3?

Like the title says, I'm just curious what class a gutted and caged e46 M3 would be in for SCCA autox? I read the rules quickly but I can't quite figure out where this would place the car. I'm assuming prepared class, but which one? XP, BP, CP, DP, EP, FP, or GP?

The reason I ask is because I'm considering gutting and caging my e46 M3 for HPDE's, but I also run many autox events each year.

This year I ran my car in Street Modified (SM) for autox. I like the variety of doing both types of events (HPDE and autox). TIA!

We have a guy in our region that runs that exact setup (gutted E46 M3) and he runs XP.

FP or XP, your choice.

Of course I would prefer the lower pax of FP. What is the determining factor between the two classes?

What have you done to your car that made you run it in SM?

Removed the rear seats before I started autocrossing in SCCA.

(I needed the extra storage access for the track gear. I also have fix mounted race seats and rollbar.)

Got ya... just wanted to make sure it wasn't motor related. Sounds like you can run FP just fine.

Eh, I doubt anyone would protest you in SM if it's just rear seats. Cages aren't light.

I don't understand what you are saying?

The car is currently legal for SM. SM allows you to remove the rear seats.

However, if I gut the rest of the interior, then it won't be legal for SM and will push me into Prepared. Hence my original question.

Okay, thanks.

FP if no rear wing. You would have more competition in XP though. I ran my ex-racecar in XP a couple of times and it was fun and got A LOT of attention.

Agreed, ran my gutted e36 in XP last year and I will again this year. I didn't run FP because our region has two of the fastest 270z's that I've ever seen! They dominate FP here.
