Attempting to stomp left turn signal indicator issues

Hey folks,
Looking at previous posts, it appears that my son's E30 left turn signal indicator has fallen victim to the infamous cracked printed circuit crap. Anyway, I've got the instrument cluster out, but before I break anything else, can someone tell me the best way to dislodge the plugs off of the back of the cluster - before this turns into a bigger cluster f@&k!

First the black clip has to be undone from the plug (a small screwdriver works great for this). Then wiggle the plug until it's out.

Thank you sir, I was pretty sure that was the process, but I've had a recent run of bad luck with the fiddly plastic electrical parts, and I didn't want to expand this irritating problem into major headache (removing a previous owners jack leg wiring sent murphy into overdrive.....
