New M6 Convertible vs. modded C5 Corvette

I had just picked up my mail at the Post Office and as I pulled out I see a new beautiful BMW M6 convertible with temp tags drive by. Incredible car with a V10 and 500+ hp. I'm driving behind him admiring his car and eventually moved around him to get into the proper lane for my left turn to go home. We come up to a red light and I rolled down my window and said, "Very nice car, she's a real beauty " He looks back and says sarcastically, "So, you think that Corvette is fast? "

This guy is probably in his mid 30s driving with his wife or girl friend. I said, "It's fast enough. Have a good one." So I roll up my window and forget about him. I didn't understand his "attitude", but whatever some guys are dicks. Anyway, after the light turns green he gives it full throttle (sounded nice) - probably after telling his girl how his new expensive M6 was going to destroy this cheap Corvette, yada yada yada, but he didn't realize my C5 is modified and has a 550 horsepower LS6 based 383 forged stroker engine that I take on the road courses.

He just picked the wrong vette. Usually, I ignore this type of activity, but this time I stepped on it - the engine is roaring and within seconds I'm passing him and waving "good bye" before we both brake. His girl was probably saying, "Umm, he's staying with us, wait - he's passing us and I believe he just waved 'good bye' - it was priceless! He decides to pull off and turn around rather than compare notes and talk about the cars...

Hope he didn't return it to the dealership to get his money back - its an awesome car. It just goes to show you though - you should never judge a book by its cover - there is always someone faster out there. His car looked like this one - same color:

I like hearing about Douchebags getting killed regardless of what they drive. Nice one!

Funny thing is I usually have a camcorder mounted on my roll bar for when I'm on the road courses, but I never leave it in the car while using it as a "daily driver" - just my luck. The M6 is definitely a fast car and a real work of art. If my vette would have been mostly stock (like he probably thought it was), it would have been a very different ending.

This is my dyno sheet - I guess you can say the M6 driver in this case brought a knife to a gun fight.

Nice. I see you're local as well. I think I may recognize you from the corvette forum.....AlohaC5 on there? Do you know Kevin "WKMCD"? he lives out in Gainesville right around the corner from me. I used to live in Fairfax city but moved out here about a year ago.

Hey Brian, I know Kevin (a bunch of us went to his house to work on his vette - little "mod" party). I'm AlohaC5 on the Corvette Forum, and I purchased a 2009 Mustang GT for my daily driver (Gray Ghost GT on the NVMC forum). I decided to do some BMW research since I really like the new M3 coupe, which is why I recently joined this forum. Kinda funny about this M6 owner....I figured, Cool! Another 'car guy', but he acted like a jerk and his car got its ass kicked. Mike

Honestly, I couldn't tell. I saw her sitting in the passenger seat when I paid him the compliment, but didn't get a good look. I hope so for his sake. LOL

My usual rule of thumb. If its a new m5 or m6 its usually. USUALLY a rich B**ch not an enthusiast. Way to put another dick in his place.

Thanks! I'm sure I startled the M6 driver when I gave my car full throttle - not what he expected to hear. He probably thought I was bringing a knife to a gun fight - not a machine gun. Regarding the video - I had to run down that modified blue STI before I completed my lap - chasing the "rabbit", lol.

thanks for establishing that even if you have a small penis and compensate with 100,000 cars and by being a dick to anyone else you can, there are some fights you just shouldnt pick.

there isn't really a lot that will overcome 1200 extra pounds and 50 less horsepower...no amount of douchebaggery can fix that problem.

btw, vivam3 thats a beautiful supra

I think that's what "e28 man" is saying in a round about way since I didn't pick this fight with the M6 - I just happened to be the guy that answered the call.

"e28 man", the M6 driver thought he was taking on an old C5 that normally has only 350 horsepower - not 550+

Your right, when I first read it I missed the part that said "even if" which shifts the focus to the other driver and I thought it said "thanks for establishing that you have a..."
