Z3 (E36/7, E36/8) (1996 - 2002) In 1996 BMW added the Z3 to the lineup. First available only with the 1.9 liter engine, the Z3 went on to carry every 6 cylinder produced between 1996 and 2002. A fun, sporty little 2 seater came both in convertible and coupe form. Being a bit of a “parts bin” car, the Z3 is part E30, part E36, but all original.

Steve, welcome! You'll find a wealth of information here. Take a quick look at the FAQ and other "Stickies" at the top of the forum, it's a gold mine of great stuff. There's several from the Atlanta area that use the forum, and we've been known to get together for "DIY/fix-it/tech days". Given the weather, you might have to swim to some of us.

Get to know the "advanced search" feature, it will be your best friend. Happy Halloween!

Marshall

Well I'm a newbie too and I love my '01 2.5. It's a lot of fun to drive and I've gotten a lot of good information from the forum.

Hey Steve,

Thanks for the intro. My name is Dennis, and I live in Alpharetta. I just picked up an '01 3.0i with 47K about a month ago.

I've already tied into one project on my car (upgrading the stereo) and I have a couple more on tap (rear trailing-arm bushings, some top repair). Let me know if you need help with anything. I'm new to these cars but I have done British cars for over 30 years and had a Jaguar shop for a few years, so I know my way around cars.

Drop me a PM or an email if you want to get in touch. It may take a few posts, but you should be able to soon...

I agree. AWESOME cars!

WOW...........Thanks for the warm welcome everybody. It has finally stopped raining here in Atlanta so I think my son and I will tale a spin up to the north Georgia mountains and hit some twisties.........Im not planning to do alot of upgrades to the car. Just some little cosmetic extras and alot of detailing. Its not my DD, but it wont be a garage queen either.........I know alot about the money tree thing. I also have a Harley-Davidson (H-D hundred dollars) touring bike that Im not riding much these days. Again thanks for the welcome and Im sure I will have plenty of questions as time goes on.

Thanks Dennis for the welcome. It sounds like you do know your way around fun cars. I live right by Harrys Farmers market off of Upper Hembree Rd. My email is ssnobrakes@aol.com if you want to get in touch with me. Thanks for the offer to help if I need something. I will see you on the street or on this forum soon........
Steve

Welcome! That's the same car I have, sterling gray though. I drive it every opportunity I get- usually making up reasons! You'll love the car!
