New toy. Again!!!

It happened again everyone. Right when I am ready to start doing turbo, I find another vehicle I have to have.

A few years back I owned my all time favorite model of truck. It was an extremely nice 1985 Nissan 720 extra cab 4x4 sport truck. 1 owner, 140k original miles. Light blue w. blue interior. It was perfect except for the engine bay pretty dirty, the bed side had some rust and the floors had some rust. Unfortunately I had to sell it at the time b/c I needed money. And I didn't want to deal with the little bit of rust that was there.

Well this weekend I was informed about this gem. An absolutely immaculate 1986 Nissan 720 extra cab 4x4 sport truck. With only 75k original miles!!! Absolutely zero rust!!! and all records back to new!!!!

This thing is like a true time capsule.

Anyhew here are some crappy cell photos of when I was picking her up.

I am soooo stoked. I will being doing a KA motor swap and then throw on some Rota Grid (Volk replica) off road wheels with some 31" tires She will be a beast.

and the turbo shall return later..... unless I find another one of my list of "must own" vehicles

Man that brings back memories...when that truck was new I had just graduated high school and a good friend of mine had the same truck, but in red. That thing was unstoppable. Great find. Good luck with that.

Nice find, looks incredibly clean. Does it have IFS or a straight axle?

weird- some guy tried to trade a lowered 720 for my 525i last week.

What motor does it have in it? I had a vg30e in my '87 pathfinder that I was swapping a vg30et...and I got deployed which pretty much killed that plan.

It does look like a jacked subaru brat from the front though.

Those trucks had IFS and they are very capable trucks.

Hahaha. Yeah I love the SR5 from Back to the Future but I am not a fan of Toyota personally.

I also had 2 87 pathfinder SE V6's. Both red with grey interior and 5 speed 4x4. I wish I hadn't sold my last single owner pathfinder either!!! I am a Nissan/Datsun fanatic at heart. This is my first BMW and my 2nd German auto (94 850R wagon was 1st) I had wanted an E34 since they were new in HS.

I will definitely be adding one of those to the collection again before too long. I also want to acquire a 240z and a 300ZXTT in white, a Hakosuka skyline and a Datsun 620 pickup to round off my favorite Nissans. Then on to the rest Modest wants right????

There has been some '70-'74 skylines for auction on the bay that are located in Torance California. Hella clean too.

All factory Nissan/Datsuns 4wd trucks imported here had IFS. Only Toyota used a solid front and only 'till 1985.

Maybe you meant European? 850r would be Volvo right?

My buddy just scored a free 71 520 truck... lucky bastard! and my best friend in HS had a 1976 620 slammed so low Bot dots were a challenge. I'm trying to work a deal on the 520 truck, but wife says 4 projects are more than enough.

Lots of nice 510's to be had!!! Check the510realm.com, thedimequarterly.com and honestly eBay has a number of nice ones that pop up. PM me your info if you are serious about finding one. I am friends with a ton of 510 guys all over the country and get the line on a number of nice ones all the time.

The second nicest survivor 510 in the country may be for sale. But at like $13,500. Which is a steal IMO. I almost sold mine to buy that one. But mine is pretty quick and the other is bone stock and probably a bore to drive

I think the early 70's truck were actually 521 pickups but I may be wrong on that. They had kingpin suspension and 4 wheel drums!!! bleh. They do look like lil 510 pickups though lol

Thanks for the compliments everyone. I am glad that I am not the only 720 enthiusiast!!! Funniest part was that I build model cars (yes I am a dork) and I just started working on this last week!!! Too bad I didn't get my 1:1 scale before I started painting the 1:24 scale lol.

nice find.

By KA did you mean KA24De? If so, may I suggest a Bluebird 2liter turbo? Or Sunny?
