Talking bye bye new GTI

So I was on my way to work the other day and this stupid squid was in front of me with his pretty black GTI . I am the kind of person who pulls into an unoccupied lane at a red light so I do and as I downshift he must have heard my exhaust or something because he kept revving up his car. I figure he was just another punk trying to show off so i ignored him. when the light turned he took off and I didn't because i didn't feel he was worth the fuel to chase him down. Well as it so happens the next light which is about a mile up turned red and although he had plenty of time to make the light he slammed on his brakes. I casually pull up next to him and the jerk gives me the bird. You know I couldn't let that fly so when the light dropped I launched perfectly and almost instanly had two to three lengths on this guy i hit 2nd hard enough to hear the throwout bearing squeal and by the time third came around i had at least six on him. about two miles later we both came to another light and i returned the gesture he so kindly gave me. and i left him in a nice perelli cloud to think about what had just happened. I have seen him three days in a row and he won't get next to me anymore. LOL let him wallow in his self pitty. e34 for life

Pretty stereotypical prick-in-a-BMW move. Still funny nonetheless.

You beat the driver.

My e46 325i got its ass kicked by a 2.0t Jetta GLI from a 40 roll and 60 roll. I had 200lbs of weight reduction (3000lbs total) and an exhaust.

I ran several other BMWs and my car was perfectly healthy, the GLI was just significantly quicker, and yes, i can drive.

I gotta feeling the GTI driver wasn't racing the OP.. If its the 'new' GTI, it runs a mid/high 14-sec quarter mile @ around 94-95mph.

Kinda interesting about getting the bird at a stoplight. If that happened to me, the seatbelt would come off, door open and I'd take a little stroll to his driver door.

he was trying really just not a good driver when the pressure is on. I have had more than my share of fast cars and this is not one of them I know i beat the driver because my fiero was way faster than my 5er. either way i still beat him.

if its the new GTi and u put 6 CL's on him in your 525i then either he was not racing or he had his car in reverse. I dont see any mods in your sig.

Unless you have FI, he wasn't racing. Your 1993 525 will not beat a new GTI in a race, ever.

And then, you would get shot. Don't try to be a badass and get out of your car because some little dicked fuck gave you the bird.

Some macho man actually had the balls to open up the door to my passenger door in my '87 F250, start insulting me, and then reach for my keys in the ignition. I almost crushed his skull with the rear tire as I punched it and he was thrown out of the cab of my truck and on the concrete. He then had the balls to follow me for 2-3 miles down the road, until he decided to drive to the police station and report what he had just done. They very sternly told him that he was lucky he wasn't shot.

Funny story though.

Totally agree in a 87' F250. I would never do that for fear of a shovel or breaker-bar being welded at me. The guy that did this to you was a fool.

In my previous post, my judgement was based on..

1. Sounds like a kid.
2. Its a new car, last thing he wants is a scratch.
3. Its a 3-door VW. Remember those VW commercials, showing the 2 guys in San Fran picking up the chair, the "dah dah dah".. Kinda implied something.

Just a scare should be enough to prevent him from a recurrence.

Today,

I had a guy who was either a salesman(doubt) or a porter for the BMW dealer down the street, in a new 328 convertible with an auto cut in front of me and then try and not let me go around him. It was a dick move and shit did he have some greasy ass curly hair.

I have the same engine as a new GTI-2.0TSI-6mt-just a Carbonio intake, weighting 110lbs more than a 5dr GTI. I pulled on him pretty hard in 3rd and 4th gear and wound up comfortably ahead. I doubt such a car is even in the 14's-one of the slowest BMW's you can buy.

Moral of the story, GTI/GLI/CC 6mt...you need to have a mid 14 second BMW or better if you are going to solidly beat one.

We have a GTI that we are giving back next month (lease end yay! hello 135i!!)
We have APR software and Carbonio intake, and I must say the car moves.
I've run with RS4s and M3s just by being on boost at the right time, or just loading up in 6th gear and just letting torque take over. The car does dies at about 100mph, but with 310ft lbs of torque, you need to work hard to get by.

Then you beat the driver not the car. Put a half decent driver in the GTI and it's no competition.
