New radio, Bad Reception
My problem is that the radio antenna is not working properly. And the problem is bad reception. I know the antenna in an E36 is behind the passenger side C-pillar. I found this somewhere:
Can somebody explain this to me who has done this procedure: There is an antenna amplifier behind the driver's side C-pillar. If you have changed your head unit and/or amplifier lately, you may no longer be sending power to the antenna amplifier. If this is the case, you will need to run a wire from your remote turn-on lead to the antenna amplifier, and all will be well. (I suffered with bad reception for about a year before figuring this out.) If you have not made any changes to your in-dash or amplifier, then check for 12V at the power lead of the antenna amp. If there is power, replace the antenna amp. If there is no power, run a jumper line to the amp and see if it works. Need help with that wiring 12V of antenna. Where do I input 12V cable? http://images.google.com.pr/imgres?i...a%3DN%26um%3D1 Got it, Brown cable was missing 12 v, up and running. Problem was solved by searching the site, brown cable from antenna was missing 12V. Last edited by lasmariaspr; 10-25-2009 at 08:47 PM.. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |
