Talking Hello, just introducing myself, New Member

Hey guys,

After a few years of toying around with old Porsche 911's and moving on to turbocharged Audi's, I have finally given in and purchased what was always on my "list" of cars I will own someday. I came across a solid example 1998 BMW 528i Manual transmission, Black on Black with only 74,000 miles on it this past summer and had to jump on it! I believe it to have sport package as it came equipped with shadowline trim and the BBS Style 5 wheels.
My first week of ownership I purchased 1.) New Cup Holders 2.) Blower Resistor 3.) New pads/rotors 4.) Thermostat and upgraded aluminum housing, 5.) Fuel Filter. I honestly couldn't be happier! This car is so much easier to work on than anything I have ever owned! Every little bit, nut and bolt, attachment, fastener, etc, has been engineered to simplicity and functionality. It makes me feel secure knowing that BMW went through countless man-hours of research and design to produce everything used in the making of these vehicles to an absolute superiority over all others. Everything mechanical will fail. It's a fact. But what's great about BMW's is that they are engineered smarter, and will last longer, and be easier to fix when it does break!
Anyhow, I'm just excited about my new (old) car, happy to be here and look forward to learning from all of you with more experience. Thanks, and have a great day!

Welcome aboard.

I hate to burst your bubble, but you may want to read up on the cooling system.

Congrats on the new ride, low miles is always a plus. If i were you i would jump right in and replace the entire cooling system within the next 10k or so. just for the piece of mind. If you dont mind saying, how much did she set you back. Just curious

Post pics when you can.

Welcome to the family. Coming from 911s and turbo Audis I must ask, you got anything in store for the E39?

Yeah, I actually have been researching the VF superchargers ;0)

I don't want to embarass myself with pictures just yet...it's completely stock! The first thing I want to do is get an M5 front clip. I see that DDM Tuning has a complete setup for about $150...any advice? I kinda fished through a forum topic on the DEPO lights and saw that there were some conflicting theories on some of these non-OEM replica parts...not sure what I should do here...!

Oh yeah, I forgot to ask...is there any type of "Eye Candy" thread here on the Bimmer Forums like there is on the audizine? Chicks, man, where are the chicks?!!!
